A darker themed GIJoe was made... It was called Resolute. There needs to be a bridge between realism and fantasy. Resolute did that very well. ROC just went full on fantasy with no respect for the character's history. Hama needs to be involved the new Joe film.
Drop the international team aspect and get back to what GI Joe is... Real American Heroes. GI is the term for American military troops. Cut out all this PC crapola and let's make a kick ass military themed flick with some fantasy elements thrown in for fun and toy sales. |

With or without Sommers, at least GI JOE is moving forward.

explain what you mean by Resolute did very well. what were its ratings? how well did the toys sell? what are you quantifying as very well.
I read that all the time, and yet there has never been any ratings or sales figures released to validate that. we know it was extremely popular with the already established G.I. Joe online collector. that doesn't mean it did very well. Last edited by gunslingercbr; 08-10-2009 at 03:15 PM.. |

I've said time and again that I am not one for continuity and that RAH (Real American Hero) was made up as it went along literally page by page and a huge hunk of it was retcon. The intrinsic cores of the characters are right there in the movie, exactly as they were in the comic. Scarlett, Storm Shadow and Snake-Eyes are true to their essence. The continuity freaks need to get a life. |

I think that says enough about the reaction to and exposure of Resolute to a mainstream audience, even a geeky one outside of Joe. |

Great news (if true already) my son was so excited after seeing this movie that he wanted a 2nd one right away (he settle for Snake-Eyes on a motorcycle and Grand Slam with a hang-glider). I'm glad Sommers at least had the stuff to make a movie that actually ends with a sequel in mind (like Empire Strikes Back did) I loved that ending with Zartan as President!

With all of this sequel talk, what does everyone think Cobra Commander will look like in the sequel? Will he sport the mask he had in the first movie, or do you think he will be wearing something new... perhaps, more familiar?
