RoC mask, molded rubber/plastic...molded in lips, not relevent to any part of the movie... ARAH figure, cloth mask where his lips actually make a physical impression of SEs lips... there are two different things going on here, one makes complete perfect sense, one does not...AT ALL! |

Yes it;s me...what of it? If you thought ROC is the red headed step child then you must think sigma six, VvV are the two ugly step sisters.

I still have not seen it and I think I'll wait until it hits redbox for $1. A collector friend of mine, who's a huge comic/toy fan, hated the movie with a passion. He's usually very leniant with movie reviews, but he thought it was putrid.

Personally, I think the reason may have been to give him a human look. You take away the mouth and he looks more like a machine. Plus if it's rubber, how the heck is he supposd to breathe, lol |

Gi. Joe the movie, was a much bigger deal, fans have been waiting 25 years for this, and a lot of them felt let down. They were just reporting on MSNBC how Twitter can actually hurt films because word of mouth moves so much quicker, they actually used ROC as an example. They claimed ROC's box-office was hurt b/c so many people were unhappy with it, and they, well, twitterd. Those people aren't your enemy, we are not your enemy. I love GI. joe since they first released the 3 3/4 figures, I just despised the movie. I don't go to the "loved the movie thread" b/c I didn't, and I know I can't change anyone's minds, and quite frankly I don't care what other people think. For that reason, I don't hear a lot of arguments for why it was a good film. The few I do hear are always the same- 1. "I liked it, but it could have been better." 2. "It was great seeing Gi. Joe on the big screen!" 3. "My kid loved it." Sorry, none of those work for me. |

...the "lips" defenders (why there are any is beyond me, lol) justify the lips on RoC SE with the fact that ARAH SE had lip impressions in his mask (much more subtle)...my point is that the lips could be seen on the ARAH version because its cloth so no matter what, they will show thru...but on rubber or plastic or whatever the RoC mask is supposed to be made of (clearly not cloth) there would be no justification for lip impressions like there is with the cloth other than to make SE look hilariously retarded... seriously, i would LOVE to hear the reason from the designers mouth...really, i am very curious how after they saw the mask with them on their, they stood back, checked it out and said "oh yeah, fo sho, that totally says bad ass ninja right there, green light those lips!" |
