In the long list of many complaints I have about this movie, I'm going to go with the portrayal of Destro as my biggest gripe. An arms dealer with a twisted sense of nobility. No more! Now, he's a sniveling worm that's a glorified date rapist. Nanomites apparently work better than roofies at loosening up the ladies.

ROC had a lot of strikes against it - bad buzz, ugly rumors, no press screenings, the fact that it's a cinematic abortion - but despite that, it had a decent opening weekend and there's talk of a sequel. You'd think its fans would be happy with that result.
But some people just can't stand the thought that somewhere, somehow, someone is expressing an opinion they disagree with. So they see a thread like this one - a thread explicitly designated for criticism of the movie - and they can't look away. They have to read it. Then they become enraged and start trolling.
What I really love is when a ROC defender comes to a thread like this and says, "Threads like this should be shut down!" Funny talk from someone who purports to be a fan of "A Real American Hero."

Did you guys read my review on this film? This part in the movie was a blatant COPY of Kung Fu Panda, Po and Monkey in the kitchen fighting over food, Just as the rest of this film has to many Star Wars overtones. If you are going to re-write Joe history with a whole new story/origins, then why do you need to copy other movies? This film was made so Hasbro and Paramount can cash in on something already familiar with. ROC is nothing more than a vehicle to sell more products.

I agree with you 100% in the film was designed just to see more toys.
I just wish they would have tried to make a descent story. Obvisouly they didn't and I believe guys like us saw this coming.
Trouble is we expect more out of Joe than what Hasblo and Paramount is willing to do.
I think it shows that they are willing to fudge stuff, cut corners, and change things in such a way that it is no real improvement from the original.
Looking at the Joecon pix, I have to say if anything positive comes of this, it appears Hasbro is at least designing some pretty neat figures coming up in the next waves. They look really realistic as far as the accessories they are tacking onto the figures! Hope to see more of that although I am disappointed to see Raptor.
Raptor, Croc Master, Big Boa, Crystal Ball, and Mindbender are my personal all-time hated Cobras.
Naturally, they will make them first just to annoy me!

*sigh* I finally saw "Rise of Cobra" today...
I really wanted to come back here and say, "I loved it! In your face haters! Neh!"
But I just cant.
While I won't pick it apart as bad as some, this was not a good movie. The comparison to a SciFi Channel original movie is right on. If I has watched this a 3 in the morning on SciFi, I probably would have liked it...if I had been out drinking all night and there was nothing else on TV.
The two biggest factors in this movie that made me dislike it were the CGI effects and the acting. I could have ignored some of the other things had these been good.
Basically, any scene with CGI in it was hard to watch. The CGI was very blatant, unrealistic, and cartoony.
The acting? Any movie where Marlon Wayans ends up being the best actor in it has got to have some bad acting. There was a lot of overacting and no acting. Channing Tatum has as much range as a Daisy air rifle. Never did I ever think "Duke" when I watched him, and in no way did I ever buy his emotions for The Baroness or even Rex. (Rex - what a horrible name.)
I thought the kids fighting in the kitchen was the best part of the movie.
Looking for at reasonable prices:
