Oh Im sorry yes when i bought my GI JOE figures thats the first thing I had them do... bang each other.
The movie was really bad. Lets just shoot every damn shot in the same green screen building and have CC and Destro take on Darth Vaders fate. Didn't we see this movie? Besides this movie was based on James bond, Star Wars and Future weapons. It's not GI JOE. They just lumped it all together and sold it on a stick. Rewind to 82-84 James Bond, Star Wars, and future weapons is EXACTLY what the bulk of the original RAH was based on! The colorful villains with global schemes are an exaggeration of the classic style of Bond villains. The sci-fi elements were certainly inspired by that other existing 3 3/4" toy line. The dreadnoks were original planned as Ewok ripoffs! Future weapons. Joes have always had futuristic weapons, many based directly on military prototypes, others entirely invented. Those aspects of the film are what made it seem somewhat based on G.I.Joe. That and all the goofy cartoony stuff. |

Paramount has these really cool 3d goggles your supposed to buy on their website for $599.00, kind a like beer goggles they tell me, and everything that is crap looks like GI JOE through them. Revolutionary Nanomite technology at it's finest!

This goes to show you, it can go either way. The problem wasn't that the people who did it knew nothing about joe, the problem was that HASBRO didn't have the same pull they did with Resolute. Basically all the hollywood asshats took it over to make a buck. GI JOE is no longer a story drenched in tradition and honor, it's a mere vessel, a husk, of it's former self. A name to slap onto any generic military action shit to make money from.

Really? I rather enjoyed the Baroness plotline. Yeah, it fully diverged from the traditional...but we've seen that played out to it's finish (and yet again in IDW). I'm really digging the 'new' Baroness, free of the cheesy accent and set up to play a Catwoman-esque role where she's torn between her dual natures (not entirely unlike her Marvel character...who was eager to retire from the Cobra racket with Destro).
I can't wait to see what they have in store for her in the sequel(s)...as long as it continues to involve tight leather outfits and a shit kicking personality.

The problem with both of hasblows summer films is they want to be star wars. There was no reason to scar destro and have CC take over a la Darth Sidious. No reason for a triangle between Duke, CC and Baroness. That shit wasn't in the comics or cartoon.

man i hear you lol. i think they handed them out to some ppl LMAO.
just look at what it had to go up ageist nothing that joe couldn't beat now if District 9 came out this weekend we could be looking at a dif story. actors are contractually obligated to return for another film, though director Stephen Sommers is not. There is reason to be concerned about whether "G.I. Joe" will fade quickly at the box office. The film experienced a sizable 18% drop in domestic ticket sales from Friday to Saturday, indicating audience word of mouth may not be great, despite a solid rating of B+ from opening-day moviegoers, according to market research firm CinemaScore. "Star Trek" saw its ticket sales increase from Friday to Saturday and went on to more than triple its opening-weekend gross. Such a fate looks unlikely for "G.I. Joe," particularly with "District 9" opening Friday and expected to perform well with males, who made up more than 60% of the audience for Paramount's film. Moore said that Paramount will aim marketing more at families going forward as a result, hoping to persuade more parents to take older children to the PG-13 film. Families made up a significant one-third of moviegoers this weekend. 1. "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," $56.2 million. 2. "Julie & Julia," $20.1 million. 3. "G-Force," $9.8 million. 4. "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," $8.9 million. 5. "Funny People," $7.9 million. 6. "The Ugly Truth," $7 million. 7. "A Perfect Getaway," $5.8 million. 8. "Aliens in the Attic," $4 million. 9. "Orphan," $3.73 million. 10. "500 Days of Summer," $3.7 million. |

Honestly I am shocked that people are giving it such poor reviews. It may be possible that I am giving it a buffer since I am a fan BUT I am a fan of good films as well. G.I. Joe was not supposed to be an intense story filled with enigmatic people or scenes that take deeper meaning but a film that was just plain FUN. Can people just get over it? It was supposed to be a stupid movie, it's a franchise based on action figures a brand targeted to young children. For some reason the critics still cannot get over this. CGI CGI CGI! TOO MUCH they say. F off is what I say!
