Anybody who thinks Storm Shadow is dead is kidding themselves.

It was an identifying trait so that we would realize it was him in the final scene of the movie. I thought it worked pretty well, though it would have been cool had he been whistling the original G.I. Joe theme song. (When he first started whistling, I actually perked up a little and listened to hear if he was whistling it as an in-joke.) |

I honestly thought ROC was a breathe of fresh air after being so perosnally disappointed by TF2, Star Trek and Terminator 4.

I liked it pretty well. I'm satisfied, but still hoping for some improvements in the sequel.

As I said in another thread, RoC was nothing like I'd expected it to be, and I enjoyed it completely. My 6 and 9 year old ate it up like candy, and are still excited this morning as they play with the GI Joe cards they got before going in to the movie, and my husband liked it so much he didn't even get mad when the soda I had for him exploded all over his legs. :-)
I liked this movie so much I'd go again, and the only other flicks I've said that for this year were Harry Potter (yes I'm a dorky fan) and Star Trek. Can't wait for Part 2. |

That's funny, because Scarlett wasn't with Ripcord in this movie. He flirted with her a couple times, which she never even returned beyond a typical good luck kiss (which was no more implying a "relationship" than the one Leia gives Luke before the swing in the Death Star.) So I don't get all the hate for this supposed Scarlett/Ripcord "romance" that wasn't even in the film. ????

Sorry but what movie were you watching?? They implied them hooking up which was stupid. All they had to do was show some flirting then have Ripcord ask who Scarlett was with and then have that Joe look over at Snake Eyes and show him doing something completely bad ass as usual and then show the look on Ripcord face like "whoa, ok I'm backing off". How hard is that? Scarlett/Snake-Eyes is a must. You don't screw that up and they did but that is just my opinion.
Anyway, I'm another one of you who loved the movie. It was exactly what a G.I. Joe movie had to be. Sommers and his cast & crew did their very best and I think it shows. Sadly, of course, you can't please everyone... I would've liked to see a Timber cameo though. They could've slipped a little wolf shot in the artic scenes... Maybe next time... |

Zartan (my favorite Joe character) made the movie a win. Sure there were problems with it, but I just keep thinking back to how cool Zartan was.
I liked Ripcord, I liked the Doctor, and I liked Destro. There wasn't anyone I had a major dislike for, but I don't think Duke was very much like what I expect Duke to be. If they made him Falcon instead, I would have been happy, but Duke just never was the loose cannon type character in my mind. |
