Pure cinema! Pure fun! Pure joy! Delivered the action, spectacle and just plain 'coolness' that I expected it would: Soldiers bound together by duty, back stories, intertwined relationships, hi-tech gear, amazing battles & set-pieces... Sounds like GI JOE to me.
Genuinely sorry for the people who are so wound up as to not just take something at face value.

i thought it was good for what it was supposed to be imho. a action packed hollywood over the top flick. some of the story like made no sense and the acting wasnt always the greatest. it wont win any emmys for sure. but it was fun. near the last 30 minutes i had to pee so bad but couldnt leave my seat cause i didnt want to miss anything (including the end credits). that says something.

Well I really liked it, so did my brother, and most of the kids who came out seemed to have liked it. No more, no less than I expected.
Also, bar maybe issue 21 and the SE origin story, it was no more or less sophisticated/believable/corny/exciting as any other Joe story (comic or cartoon) I've seen |

I'm a huge fan of G.I. Joe based on the 3 & 3/4 inch toys and G.I. Joe: The Movie (80's Animated movie). I had almost all the figures, watched the movie all the time, and enjoyed the TV show.
I loved the movie and I went into it very nervous, so I could have easily been dissapointed. My Wife, best friend, and his fiance, who have know nothing about G.I. Joe other than it is a toy, all loved it. I'm going to see it again this weekend and I can't wait for the sequel. Also, the toy line is great. The Snake Eyes Paris Pursuit is one of the best looking G.I. Joes ever, IMO. |

It was a very enjoyable experience. I was very entertained by the movie. I wish there were a little bit more Joes in the story, but that's why there are sequels.

Just got back from seeing R.OC. with my 7 year old..and have to say it was alot better than i expected...wasn't sure i'd like Channing Tatum as Duke but was incredibly surprised at the character.
Like everyone says it's not our original JOE but i find it's a interesting take on it. I was bummed to see Cover Girl die and was for sure Hawk was going to remain in the wheelchair for the rest of the movie, also Baroness switching sides...but i guess that will probably lead into her busting CC and Destro out in the sequel. All in all much better than i expected and can't wait for the DVD release! (Plus i liked Brendan Frasier as Sgt. Stone...Yo Joe!) |
