Sgt Stone will lose an eye and an arm and become Lt. Stone at the end of the 2nd movie. You will all want this figure

And I doubt they would consider landing Brendan Frasier "wasting" a character.

One thing that has always bothered me about the possibility of a Lt. Stone character is that his name doesnt really play out to much of a codename, right?
If his last name is Stone, and he is a Lt or a Sgt... then how does that translate to being much of a cover? What if Stone is simply his real name, and the movie does not name his codename? Wikipedia names the RoC Sgt Stone character as Geoffrey Stone IV. Now to me, Geoffrey Stone IV has a bit of an aristrocratic ring to it. Kinda like Dashiell R. Faireborn... Now, would it be a terrible sin if Flint is renamed Geoffrey Stone IV, and his codename simply derived from someone making a crack about his last name? "you're no stone... more like a pebble, or a flint even". That way Brendan Frasier's character could receive a promotion to Warrant Officer in order to be the interim day to day leader of GI JOE while Hawk is called to Washington or while he is recouperating from his injuries. He could also be tasked to be Hawk's second in command and the field team leader, in case they dont think Duke is ready to assume command of the team yet. Quote:
The Marine Corps has had warranted officers since 1916 as technical specialists who perform duties that require extensive knowledge, training and experience with particular systems or equipment. Marine warrant officers would be selected from the ranks of non-commissioned officers and given additional training in leadership and management. In 1943 all Marine warrant officer ranks were aligned with the other services. They were Warrant Officer (W1) and Commissioned Warrant Officer (W2). The duties Marine warrant officers typically fulfill are those that would normally call for the authority of a commissioned officer, however, require an additional level of technical proficiency and practical experience that a commissioned officer would not have had the opportunity to achieve.
An enlisted Marine can apply for the Warrant Officer program after serving at least eight years of enlisted service, and reaching the grade of E-5 (Sergeant) for the administrative warrant officer program or after serving at least sixteen years of enlisted service and reaching the grade of E-7 (Gunnery Sergeant) for the weapons warrant officer program. If the Marine NCO is selected, he or she is given additional training in leadership and management. |

I think the new Capt Kirk has more balls than the new Sgt Stone, Duke, and Ripcord put together. Since this is a paramount movie, maybe they can pull some strings and do a reboot with JJ Abrams writing and directing the sequel.

I think Flint has to be his own man. I sincerely hope Sgt. Stone doesn't become Flint... Brandon Frasier isn't smart enough to play the role. Actors can fake a lot, but it's really hard to fake smart.
