::Just sitting here smiling.:: Sam... it's the reason of why last night I was adamantly trying to protect RoC from haters...If you guys could only see the good this film's brought to our table as well... To have a kid walk up to you while you're dressed up as an iconic figure like Storm shadow or flint to ask if he can have his picture taken... It was stuff dreams are made of. Memories were being formed because of Roc to inter twine us all from parents, or aunts and uncles to our next line . If the guys who were returning fire with me about this bout.. I'm sorry for the battles that took place. However, Sam brought a tear to my eye. Opening night and at the permire... there were a ton of kids gleefully cheering the chants of Yo Joe and Cobra. Had a kid greet me with''Coobraa!" much like the tank here does with each other. It mighta been a 'horrible film'' but ... we're all Joes... What do real joes do? we unite .. Doesn't matter what fence you guard.. be it Cobra, or G.I. Joe... we're all united because of our past. When we look at it another way... what will become of our beloved skystrikers and Flaggs when we're no longer around? That Generation Sam's talking about. They will carry the torches as we have from our fathers before us. Sam I thank you so deeply for typing that message. I don't have kids, or little ones around.
Roc might not have been our joes.. But Sam I'm sure you tingled with such a joy when you saw the twin 9's on the side of that big beautiful ship. YO JOE!!! |

WOW Sam.. you seriously just brought a tear to my eye...
I do remember exactly what you are saying.. and I too saw the movie last night.. just woke up in fact because I was fortunate enough to see the late showing for free thanks to the kindness of the Theater manager who hosted our GI Joe event. And for a kid or anyone who does not know anything about the GI Joe we know.. that movie is really awesome. Like you... I wasn't completely happy with it.. to say the least.. but if I was eight.. I would have freaking LOVED it.. and that is what is important just as you said.

My nephew is two, and I kid you not, he's a huge GI Joe fan. He can spot and name Duke in any incarnation. Comic,Cartoon, toy, even the freakin' movie. It's kind of funny... The first time he saw the GI Joe movie trailer on tv he started screaming "GI Joe! Yo Joe!" before anyone in the commercial had mentioned anything about GI Joe. I have no interest in seeing the movie, but I am tempted to take him. The only issue is I don't know how well a two year old (Even a mature two year old) would handle sitting in a theater for two hours.
