Thanks Sam, you have given us a breath of fresh air amid all the hot wind that's been blowing around here lately. You seem to get the point, like a few others here.
For those who came on this thread, saw how positive it was, and felt the need to try to destroy the sentiment...why? There are a ton of other posts (hell I'm sure there is at least one or two in the recent threads box right now) to go on and express just how much you didn't like the movie. You want people to let you have your opinion and stop whining about the 'haters' but you can't let a positive post go unspoiled by your criticism. |

Sam, all class, as always. Very well put, and 100% true.
Yes, there was a lot I disagreed with, and a lot I liked. The movie was GIJOE. The bottom line is this: if you had fun, the movie did it's job.

What I am going to do is find a gourp of kids at the taregt age group range and show them Resolute and let them decide what looked and felt more like a GI JOE show to them. Let's see what they like more. My bet is on Resolute
No way in hell would i waste $100 taking kids to show them this movie, if they wanna sneak in on thier then that is fine, but not by my hand will I envoke ROC upon anyone! never once have I seen a positive post from you, ever. kids are enjoying your favorite hobby to continue it's longevity so that surely someday you'll get hasbro to make exactly, specifically, what you want. lighten up, buddy, we're all in this together. Sam, you are a beacon in the gi joe night. always a pleasure to read your posts. |

Nice input and a refreshing reminder that this is a business and these are afterall toys they are selling.
If we as adults can find a couple of cool moments within the movie then that should be reward enough, and I found more than a couple. No one from the movie ever came out and said they were making the movie for us, the 25 or older fan, not that I read at least. Great thread Sam. |

Just got back from seeing it,loved it a lot, thought the early trailers didn't give a good impression-final results a lot better.
If I was ten I would think its the best film ever made, but Im 36 so IL give it 8/10! The best bits were not in the trailers,so it was a great experience to see the end results. I think a lot of haters about now will be licking their wounds-great job sommers! |

I just saw it and thought of this thread.
They say "shit" alot. Enough that you notice. them Joes used enough poor language to make Shipwreck blush. |

I took my six year old son this morning and over here, it wasn't so crowded (like his experience with the second Transformers film which we had to wait for an hour in line). But it was fine, he got to learn about finding good seats in the theater but overall he enjoyed it (although I can tell he was getting antsy during the Duke and Baroness scenes).
But for the most part, when we went, there were a lot of kids at the theater. I think I saw them all cringe during the Zartan needle scene and the end with Destro but overall, he seemed to enjoy the action sequences. Needless to say, he was happy to pick up some G.I. Joe ROC Burger King Happy Meal toys (thank goodness our store sells the toys for a 99 cents each).
