Anybody's theater had low attendance for Midnight showing unlike the other summer movies, Wolverine, TF2, Harry Potter, Terminator
My theater had 3 screens showings of GI Joe but NOT as packed as TF2, I was one of 2 people at the theater screening that wore a GI Joe tshirt. |

our theater here in town showed it at 7 last night, 9, 11:30, 12:01, 2:00, 3:15, and 4:55.
from what I have heard they stopped after the 2:00 and changed their plans due to low attendance. but this is just what I have heard.

When I went to see TRANSFORMERS (the first one) me and my sister were literally the only people there.
Didn't do that film any harm... Besides, it's the same old story. Those who hated the film will report that 'loads of people walked out', 'the theatre was barely full' or 'everyone was saying how much it sucked'. Still, I suppose the opposite will be true too...

When most of the popular movies have Midnight screenings at my theater, theres usually a long line. I got to the theater 1 hr 10 mins before the scheduled start time. My buddy and I were one of the few at the begining of the line. DK/TF2 were one of the movies recently that we had to goto near the back of the theater to wait in line.

I wouldn't have expected Joe to have a big turn out for a midnight showing, kind of surprised there would have been a midnight showing except in the major cities.
It's not a knock on the movie at all, low turn-out at midnight showings. Look at DK/TF2 and Harry Potter. Those all had HUGE established MOVIE (not property, MOVIE) fanbases from the original ones. Did Batman Begins have a midnight premiere? Don't think so. Don't even remember if Transformers did, or any of the earlier Harry Potters. Lack of attendance at a midnight premiere doesn't mean anything in the long or short term success of a movie. Even if my local theater had a midnight showing, I wouldn't have gone, have to work in the morning. Alot of the target demographic for this movie wouldn't have gone to a midnight showing on a thursday night/friday morning (work, kids, etc..).
