Same in my area. With the 25th/ME Joe's, once the collectors got what they wanted, the rest of the stuff just sat, that's why I got into troop building because there were plenty of army builders. Kids avoided Joe's in the toy section. But with ROC, it's like kids have done a total 360. Now I have competion in the Joe section, with kids & parents talking about the toys and how much they can't wait til the movie comes out. Kids already making out B-Day, X-Mas, and allowence spending lists on ROC toys. Where as during the 25th/ME time, I was there alone and could take my time sorting through the figures. Target especially is selling well as they keep restocking and now TRU is getting there. Wal-Mart seems to be the downer, but I think that's because they waited so long to put the ROC stuff out, but that could change once the movie drops.

I guess he didn't get it. Oh well. Trying to point out some of the errors I've seen in here where people are talking about the "original" GIJoe and confusing him with ARAH. One more huge gap in the logic of all the haters out there. They can't lay claim to the "original".
I've already got my day planned around getting to the Theater asap on Thursday. Fandangoed my ticket. Bought a new GIJoe Shirt. Should I go with the Tiger Stripe or Desert Chocolate Chip BDU Pants? Thanks for the honest review, Destro. I've got my reservations about ROC (centered around the E-Suits) but I'm putting them asside so I can enjoy the Ride! id have to go with Desert Chocolate Chip, all time best looking camo imo. |

ARAH fans aren't claiming it to be the "original" in terms of the very first GI Joe. We all know the 60's Joe exists. But in the minds of most people today, ask them what GI Joe is, and it's not the 60's Joe, it's not VvV, it's not Sigma6. It's ARAH. To the non-fan base right now, ARAH is GI Joe. RoC will likely change that, but referring to ARAH as the primary source material and as theGI Joe we know and love isn't a huge gap in logic, it's a semantics issue. Trying to say that ignoring the 60's is a "huge gap in logic" is really knocking down a straw man. Quote:
You want to get back to "original", there was a story about Ernie Pyle that was before the 60's Joe, but no one thinks we're talking about that. No one thinks we're talking about the 60's Joe either.

just saw this on another board man this is funny how does he know
“You can never win with those guys,” Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, producer of both “Transformers” films and “G.I. Joe,” said of the San Diego convention. “They feel they’re the keepers of the fanboys flag and have a deep childhood association with many of these properties. And we know the hard-core fans are already coming to see the movie.” http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/hero...the-idea-.html |

Wouldn't it make more logical sense to assert that since we've been in the hobby for so long, we might have an even higher sense of what we like/dislike, and thus it makes perfect sense that we might not like the movie?

RoC isn't a completely different product from RAH. It's a product derived from RAH. |
