. The Comedy scenes.
. The advanced Technology.
. The Vehicles.
. Brendan Fraser's cameo (I hope he comes back in G.I. Joe 2).
. Snake-Eyes vow of silence.
. The modified ending (I prefered the original, with Cobra Commander and Destro escaping, the Baroness continuing evil and the Joes moving on to the USS Flagg).
. Snake-Eyes costume. :hehe:

I have to say, I love this movie. I've seen it twice already.
It strikes the right tone of over-the-top action and humor, while still taking this crazy world seriously enough for me to care about it.
I really liked Marlon Wayans as Ripcord, he's great as the wisecracking nice guy. Rachel Nichols was so hot as Scarlett, and spot on I think. Duke definitely didn't stand out much in the ensemble cast, but I thought he was decent.
And of course, Park and Lee did great as Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. Especially Storm Shadow, he was so suave in this movie! Him, and of course the sexy Baroness (Sienna Miller), were lovable villains.
Then you have Levitt's fun turn as Cobra, Dr Who as a solid Destro to be, and Quaid as an enjoyably over-the-top Hawk. "Deploy the SHARCS!".
All in all, this movie is a blast. It lays down the groundwork for some sequels that I am pumped for already.

I felt that it could have been written better. There are holes in the plot and some of the acting seems like "charmed" (not that I watch it but my wife does) quality. They did try to throw in the entire cool but cheesy Joe clashes’ but at times that really were...well bad. I wish they would have used the story line from the original cartoon movie and pulled the CGI special effects back from 90 percent to about 75 percent and put more into the mechanics of the story. I felt at times they were cramming in scenes in order to just sell toys (which is cool). The baroness/duke relationship is kind of silly, she loses her brother...her man takes off then she pops up as the baroness and duke has to watch the personnel file? Just me maybe?

Finally got a chance to see the movie and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. The action was great, it moved at a steady pace and it was a nice introduction to the Joe team. I loved how they featured an action sequence in different environments, i.e. desert, artic, underwater, etc. I can definitely see future installments with new Joes for years to come.
I liked the whole Joe team. Duke and Ripcord were better than I thought. SE was, as expected, quite cool. Scarlett was beautiful and deadly. I even liked Breaker. I didn't like Heavy Duty as much but that is probably b/c I kept on thinking of Roadblock.
I liked Cobra even better. The Baroness was exquisite and she had a bigger role than I expected. Loved how Destro and CC came to be in the final minutes. And like SE, SS was quite cool. Their battles were epic.
At first, I did not like the whole Duke/Ana/Rex storyline and how they changed the origins of Baroness and CC but upon retrospect, it fits into this new mythos the film is establishing. And that is what this is, a new mythos and reimagining of G.I. Joe. And I say it is a welcome one.

I agree with some of this and kept in mind most of the film that it's not our gi joe it's a new animal and that as a stand alone kind of thing it was pretty fun.

Well I saw it today and even though a couple things could have been tweeked..it still ROCKED!
I'm going to see it again!
See with all of these "Haters" out there that want/like to see films like Transformers & G.I. Joe fail really don't have a clue...Since these films do good they open the door to other films (MOTU) to be made and to be a success..so just because it's not like it was from your childhood and just because the US version was/is different than the Action Force version (Whatever it started HERE in the US).
And since we are getting a sequel that only makes things better right?

I just got back from seeing GI JOE for the 2nd time and i went with my wife this time, and she really enjoyed it, and so did i again. it was still very entertaining and a lot of fun.
And i still can't fault it on anything.
IMO it was great.
The people that are hating it seem to be the ones that still think the 80's cartoon is good, and they think everything from the cartoon should of been in the movie exactly, but that would of looked stupid and lame.

Oh My God... Oh. My. God... I went in expecting that the G.I.Joe (oops, I'm sorry that's now "G.I.J.O.E.") movie was going to be awful. My expectations were rock bottom, like my expectations could not have been worse, and yet somehow the movie managed to be much much much much worse than I ever could have imagined it being. Like so bad I'm tempted to go into the bathroom, not so that I can throw up, but so that I can rinse out my eyes and ears with rubbing alcohol, and then go in with the steel wool afterwards.
EVERY change they made was for the worse. I had no idea you could possibly get so many things so absolutely wrong. Like you could not get that franchise more wrong if you spent five years locked in a room with a pen and paper and the writing staff of Yee Haw. I almost laughed several times, and once at the end I couldn't hold it in (the scene when Destro gets injected with "nanomites"). I couldnt help but boo when Scarlett kisses Marlon Waynes (but on the inside I was weeping) which itself caused at least one other guy who was in the know to laugh. I literally spent three quarters of the movie with this disgusted look on my face. If I weren't with my dad I would have just walked out. It is SO BAD, that it is actually a contender, a serious and very STRONG contender, to be my pick for "worst movie of all time"
Joe has always had SOME Sc-iFi elements, but this was like watching a bad episode of the original Battlestar Galactica. There's more Sci-Fi than the toy line did in the mid 90's when the excessive Sci-Fi elements were killing interest in the line. Like, the Power Rangers are more grounded in reality.
This was obvious going in, but the designs for EVERYTHING are all awful. Snake Eyes looks like he's made out of dark gray plastic, the giant ugly mouth is everywhere, EVERYWHERE!!! The "Neo-Vipers" look simply horrible. Basically everything was horrible. In all utter complete honestly I can't think of ONE thing I liked about the movie except for the group of realistic soldiers at the begining of a movie.
Like I thought, the game is MUCH better than the movie. And I'm talking about the story and the voice acting AND the action!!!! (I can't believe they spent 170 mil on effects that are that bad) I honestly mean I would have had a better time watching the game play out on the big screen. Dusty, Snow Job, Recondo, and ESPECIALLY Stalker are all much better and more fully rounded characters in the game with their Metal Gear talking head sequences than ANYBODY in the movie. (and in all complete honesty better acted, the acting in the movie is SO bad it should be edited into a "how not to" video for young actors)
I sincearly hope they never make a sequel to this, they need to wait a few years and do a complete reboot.
I think I may want to die.
How was your day?
