Yeah, A New Hope [you know, the first Star Wars movie] wrapped up nicely. So that whole argument is dumb.
Transformers also wiped its hands clean by killing off all the badguys.
Mortal Kombat of all movies is a better example of a movie ending with a "sequel to come" ending... If only they hadn't gone through with the idea.
I'm disappointed to hear about this capture ending. Well, guess I'll just purge that bit from my memory should I ever see it... And still look forward to GI Joe 2: Hail to the Chief!

Or maybe Cobra Commander WANTED to get caught! Remember D-Day at Alcatraz?? To me the key to his escape is in another part of the Flagg and she is just waiting for him to push the button.

I love the movie. If you know the details of all the gi joe storyline you gonna like it.
Ripcord is really black in the first issue of the comics.
Cobra commander and baroness are brother & sister
duke & baroness area couple in the cartoons.
I gotta say the details are perfect!!!
They also use the best accelerator suit which they use in the cartoons
duke looks amazing
zartan the best
the best movie ever!!!!!!! 10/10
this movie are for the fans!!!!!

I think I detect just a hint of sarcasm.
Stuff like this post, doesn't help any. Everyone could do without the annoyingly sarcastic posts, there's no need for them. They don't accomplish anything. If you want to give a review, go for it, but come on... Something like this post is just trolling and flame bait.

Even if I had the inclination to concoct a tedious 'mock review' to make the 'opposition' (for want of a better word) look foolish, I wouldn't have to. Some of them are making fools of themselves.
There's a specific thread for 'haters', Renegades.

The "nutbar fanboy" think, yeah.. doesn't help any. Can do without that kind of stuff around here, been too much unnecessary division between fans.
I don't agree with the view that "if it's not ARAH then it's not good", doesn't mean anyone is stuck in the 80s, just means they have a type of blinder on, or "arah tinted glasses" as I like to say. Nothing wrong with it, don't think it's giving the movie a fair shake, but it's their choice and doesn't make 'em nutbar.

Aww, man I know right! I wish I read the same comic as you. This is the greatest review ever! I thank you so much for posting this. Man, you're so cool and original. I wish I was just as clever as you. I wish I could contribute to the board just as much as you. I mean I would've been so misguided without this awesome synopsis of the film. So thank you, thank you so much.

The Wayans wasn't that bad. Too bad the rest of the movie was. Even if you don't take in to consideration all the Universal Story Alternations it wasn't a good movie.
I wasn't expect a master piece. I was expecting some good old fashion fun. Stupid fun but fun none the less. Simple plot, cheesy lines and plenty of action. It had those things but it also had some horrible CGI and bad performances. Hard to get involved with the action would the effects seems just a couple steps above a sci-fi channel movie. Actors here either, just showed up for the pay check or were just bad. I'm speaking to you "Duke" The guy who did Storm Shadow actually did pretty good. Funny how the Deadly serious Ninja guy showed more emotion than most actors. He also had the most to gain from being in this movie. He's an unknown in the States. If he tries to do a good job as Storm Shadow maybe Hollywood would notice him for other work.
There was some good moments but it was overall a bad movie.

I know this is just what everyone needs - another review! Still, here's my thoughts on the movie:

Uhm, no Starscream escaped. He for all intent and purpose was the leader of the Decpticons. So if the movie was called "Transformers: The Rise of Starscream" wouldnt you be saying wtf? He came into power and then left. In GI JOE its even worst.... Cobra was captured before he even rose to power. Duke scared Destro not Cobra Commander and all Cobra Commander did was announce his ascension to Destro, threw some stick on logo on the sub and was captured :10 minutes later.
But just so you know, we know why the title for GI JOE is what it is...... but regardless its still a stupid Title. The film should have been called The Rise of GI JOE, or Zartan for that matter.
The Bourne Identity was not greenlit until after Bourne came out and was a success and Empire would not have had a sequel if it failed miserably at the theaters. A matter of fact, Harrison Ford was not signed on to do a sequel hence the set-up to kill him if they had to. So, no....... a sequel was wanted but not guaranteed.
