overall i thought the movie was decent. I went in not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised by it.
Anyone else think the voice of CC at the ned should have been used for destro after he gets his mask? It reminded me so much of the cartoon voice.

My point is that the cartoon is as utterly different to the comic in terms of plot & back-stories as ROC was. One gets embraced for some reason (because they saw it as a kid maybe?), while ROC gets kicked in the nuts (because they saw it as adults maybe?)
Me, I like the cartoon, I like the comic too, even though they couldn't be more fundamentally different.

I figure that in the sequel Zartan will start using his influence to try and get the Joes disbanded, saying they are no longer needed as he has them sent out on false missions they are guaranteed to fail, while the nanomites take over Baroness again and she frees both Destro and CC from prison.

I had a lot of fun. It was by no stretch of the imagination an Oscar Best Picture winner. But it was a great popcorn movie and it gave back to the fans. I can't wait for more.
I assume Storm Shadow will be breaking CC and Destro out of prison in the first few minutes of the sequel? |

I think I'll have to watch it again soon as I missed the first 10 mins. I want to figure out if nato had asked McCullen to develop the nanomites, going back to the time when the bunker was blown up (with Rex and Mindbender in it), or whether he was trying to peddle them to nato.
Also, someone posted here wondering why McCullen had conned money out of nato to develop these things, when he was wealthy enough to afford an arctic base. I'm assuming that the arctic base is his main factory / research lab? If so, then he acted the same way most other arms manufacturers, where governments contract them to develop something, and these companies, therefore, don't have to use funds from their own coffers? |

I really haven't seen anyone defend the cartoon as being great. What I've seen is people say, "We liked the cartoon when we were kids, and watching it now makes us realize just how dumb it was, but it's fun to watch for the nostalgia factor."
So RoC gets kicked in the nuts because we realize how dumb it is, but have zero nostalgia attached to it. Makes sense to me. |
