Could have done without storm shadow appearing to die or the need to make everyone connected, along with a good baroness, but all in all I gotta say I am thrilled with the result. And I am damn glad we didn't get a GI Joe movie with the 80's ARAH outfits, it would of been like a bad village people music video.
For me, the single best thing to come out of this movie is that a new generation of kids will get to know GI Joe. I went to Target after the movie and loved the fact that there were several kids in the Joe aisle buying Joes...getting excited over them. Good stuff right there. Thank you Hasbro my childhood wasn't raped, a new generation of kids will love it (the packed theater I was in anyway - the preteens were going apeshit during the Paris pursuit), and all is right with the world. Yes, kids are into Joe but its a different Joe. I've already had to answer the question several times, "why doesn't this Cobra Commander look like your Cobra Commander, daddy?" I chalk it up to a GI Joe series like Extreme or Sigma 6. Its there but its not my Joe. Yes, they didn't rape it but they did molest it a bit. The ROC characters are like imitation gold jewelry. They look good under the shiny lights but loose their luster as the metallic paint rubs away. |

having her be in love with Duke was cheesy. Saying "dahling" is classic, its part of her appeal. Diehard fans know that. |

Just came back from the theater.
AWESOME movie. I realy enjoyed. When I noticed, 2h had just passed - time flies when you are enjoying it! The plot was cool, the acting was good and there was some very nice directing in there. Kudos to Stephen Sommer and crew! |

As a computer animation student, I gotta say the CHI was pretty good. Only two parts tripped me up. The first helicopter to get shot down and Destro's metal face for the first time. The rest I loved. The only thing I felt though was that CC/The Doctor's voice was fine through out the movie until the Darth Vader like at the edn. I loved it. It was very reminescent of old Joe stories where Cobra has a weapon and Joe scrambles to stop them. I loved the movie and I must say that I'm pleasently suprised to see that it was good. I love GI Joe and the movie was awesome. I used to say there;s only one GI Joe movie and it was about Cobrala, but I was wrong. This movie was awesome and was an awesome way to see the Joes I know and love on the silver screen. I just wish they filmed a PSA for the ending credits!!!

From what I read the writer of the original script was rushed due to the writers strike. So with all that considered, I think he did a pretty good job. Was it everything you wanted? Not really, but you know when the film industry gets a hold of a movie they butcher it. They did a really good job of adding in little bits and pieces for the fans. Not sure if you all are fans of the comics but the part where Breaker takes Duke's bubble gum and blows a bubble is classic! He seems to have a never ending supply of that stuff in the comics, almost every shot has him blowing a bubble.
Also for anyone dissapointed in the Baroness' accent, I read from Larry Hamma I believe that he never wrote her in the comics to have that accent. He didn't watch the cartoon version that used the accent so it was never written in his comics. I do hope they do some clean up work in the sequel. Not sure how they will explain her turning to the good side, unless the Commander brainwashes her again with the nanomites. Also, if I am not mistaken, the Hard Master was killed by Zartan and not Storm Shadow, who later turned sides and joined the Joes. If this is true how the heck do they explain that one? If Zartan flashed back the same as SE and SS he would have been a child also. Pretty evil little kid I guess. But why would he be in a Japanese temple anyway? The only real dissapointment I had was casting Channing Tatum as Duke. Had they not told me who he was I would have never known. His performance was terrible and did nothing for the character. Overall, an awesome movie and I would love to see it again. Collecting the figures before seeing the movie gave me a good heads up on the characters and vehicles. Now I just have to get more of the vehicles and the PIT after seeing them in action... although if the PIT was the same PIT in the movie how was that mobile when it was burried under the desert? And where did all the sand go when the Terrordrone doors open on it? Next movie get a new Duke and fix Cobra Commanders mask! |

To any nay sayers, I say suck it! The movie was good and they did justice to GI JOE. It left me wanting alot more.
The only things I wish they would have stayed true to is the Baroness story, she is like one of the top three bad guys with Cobra so I hope she finds a way to be a bad guy again in the sequel. Who knows, maybe she will be the one to break Cobra Commander and Destro out. Ripcord didn't even bother me as much as I though it would, Wayans actually did a good job but they should have made him into Stalker. I dont get why they are releasing so many vehicles that were'nt even close to being in the movie like the Rhino, I just bought it and it looks cool but none of the doors or hatches will stay on and it is a pain to release and reattache the helo. They should have made the Cobra flying transport bigger to carry more people. and lets get the sub and sharks out here. Thought the movie was good though, I have to get started on writing the sequel. Maybe give Hasbro and Paramount some ideas. |

I wonder how this film will hold up in the future.
I mention this as I remember when Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace came out. There were a lot of fans that loved it when it came out but have since changed their opinion. I wonder if nanites will be the curse to GI Joe as midichlorians were to Star Wars? |

the movie was poorly made. there was no dramatic tension, even in the action scenes. in the hands of a better director, the movie could have been really good, the material wasn't bad brought to life. but Sommers is absolutely awful. he is Brett Ratner awful. |
