I am in total agreement. They didn't try to hard. I am sure Sommers would disagree and he dismisses us as "internet haters." I am sure he thinks he worked hard but I think the fans should make that decision.
If you make something, you need to hear out the complaints. You might learn something. I for one an writing a letter to Goldner as Hasblo. I will have my opinions in writing and on the record. Whose bloody with me?!!!

I just came from my second viewing, and while I really liked it, there's just some stuff I don't understand. Keep in mind, I'm a comic book junkie...anyway...
1. Why make The Doctor a combination of Mindbender, then actually bring in Dr. Mindbender? Bald head, monacle, Rex? 2. While the 'young snakes vs SS feud' came off well, I would have liked to have seen them as a little bit older when the hard master was murdered. 3. The allusion to Bongo the Balloon Bear was a nice touch. 4. Seems like they would have explained a little about the arishikage tattoos/symbols. Maybe next time. It just seemed like they took different elements of the comic book runs and applied them to the wrong characters. I know it's an origin movie, but still...They give us Breaker's gum, but not a closer adaptaion of CC's origin? Weird to me... 5. Other than that, I guess I have the same beefs as everybody else: If they're a secret covert unit, why is 'GI JOE' woven into the camo? Do they not have a better security system at The Pit? Those MOLES came in pretty undetected. |

People that don't really know much about G.I. Joe will love the movie. On its own, its a good action packed movie. The die hard Joe fans may be a little dissappointed because it could have been a lot better. It depends on how you take it though.
I just hope that the sequel takes into consideration that these are arguably the best collection of characters from any comic or cartoon that you can have (next to the batman villians and xmen) but it was good. P.s. a perfect example is - I cant figure out why marlon wayans wasnt playing Alpine instead of Ripcord and why the Baroness didnt have an accent (and say "dahling" every other word) |

Thankfully the comic Baroness was never that bad and never said "dahling". This diehard fan liked the movie, even with the changes. Nothing wrong with updates and changes.

They did detect the moles as seismic activity. Really hard to make out stuff when it's underground beyond seismic activity and there's alot of it going on, on a regular basis. Once they puched the wall though, that should have been detected right away.

That was one of the biggest things that bothered me in the movie. Last edited by Bulkhide; 08-08-2009 at 04:22 PM.. |

Saw it a second time today. My friend liked it (he is only a few comic issues and the cartoon familiar with Joe). Most of the things I noticed yesterday weren't as glaring the second time. They didn't hurt my overall enjoyment of the film, but they were there and are burned into my mind forever.
I still hold onto 3 things though. Duke was horrible, not so much Duke, but Tatum. The CGI was really bad, but more so at the beginning. The end battle is so heavily influenced by ROTJ that it is unbelievable. From the sequences, sets, and even the music. I give it a B as a moviegoer, a C+ as a fan. I also noticed more kids today, and they all were saying how they liked it, and one even said it was better than Spider-Man and Transformers. This is good and who the movie is for!

Who said i was bashing the film and not collecting the toys? All I'm saying it could have been better. I'll repeat what I said earlier- I liked it for what it was- but truly not the best attempt at a GIJOE film.
