I just saw the film this afternoon with fellow tanker Slowrey. I know we both enjoyed it a great deal. Slowrey's only major complaint was the Vipers sounding like Stormtroopers when they talked. I thought the end was a bit rushed, given what happens to the major baddies, but otherwise I had no issues. JGL did a great job as CC, and his voice was definitely unique. The major joe death I'd heard rumored was still shocking when it happened. Brendan Frasier's cameo was nicely done. My favorite "oh, wow!" moment was seeing Snake Eyes jumping out of the Howler to save Duke and Ripcord. Loved the Typhoon Gunship and the SHARCs-definite must haves. It was as good as I expected. I can't wait to see it again. Yo, Joe!

Everyone in the theater jumped when CG was killed and when SS drew the blade on the Baroness.

saw the film with hector last night... in costume x.x was good.
went back to theatre today to promote. had to be in costume and had quite a few people ask for pictures ehehe.
the comments were good. but laughing my butt off when one of the managers asked stormy to cut his employee's head off and offered $20, we like uhh.. sry wooden blade.
then we dared hector who was stormy to yell "cobra" and he did outside the theatre. we all fell laughing.
it was good love the SS and SE fights.
considering destro was the villian from gone in 60 seconds... i was just waiting for him to slip and say that line from 60 secs. "do i look like a A+++hole?"

Went to see this movie Friday night with my son and nephew. The movie was better than I expected, although it was good not great. It is very fast paced from start to finish, not only in action but in dialogue. Sometimes a little too fast and hard to follow, in action and dialogue. For people like me who grew up in the 80's playing with the action figures and reading the comics, be warned, some of the characters are different from their original versions. For example, Storm Shadow is really an evil ninja who happens to wear white, rather than the original Storm Shadow, who was an honorable but tragic figure. There are several abrupt flashbacks in the movie which try to tell the back stories of some of the characters, but for the most part none of the many characters are really drawn out very well. None of the actors are particularly good, although the dialogue and action move at such a fast pace it's not much of a problem. Sienna Miller, however, is very good as the Baroness. I was afraid that the Wayans brother who played Ripcord might be a little over the top, but he was actually quite good.
There were maybe 4-5 objectional words spoken in the movie, far below the norm for a modern PG-13 Hollywood movie. There might have been a few more than that, but again the dialogue was so fast paced it was hard to notice. For the most part, the bad language was used right in the middle of the action sequences but not at critical moments to evoke laughter from the audience, for example, as many movies seem to do nowadays.
Also, although there are a couple of attractive women who wear tight fitting military outfits, there aren't any sexual scenes to speak of, a welcome relief for moviegoers. There is some kissing, and a very, very brief scene in a flashback of the Baroness in, well, her briefs.
My nephews enjoyed the movie and the fast paced action. They didn't really care that that the movie didn't follow all the original story lines of the characters. This was a decent action movie that should appeal to most boys as well as men my age, but that's about all it will appeal to.
Other than that, 'nuff said. Yo Joe!!!!!

Saw it today. Went in with low expectations. Enjoyed it though as did my girlfriend and her daughter. Great feeling to enjoy GIJoe with the family. Did like that they didn't go with the frat boy humor that was so prevalant in Transformers 2.
Do have a few beefs with the big things they changed, funky to see snake eyes with a face on the big screen. Also the joe cammo seemed to be grey to me, not the light blue as in all the figures. Also seems I need to rethink Cover Girls duties on my 'new 13' lineup.

Saw this with my nephews and brother-in-laws. My two nephews (12 & 16) gave it a B+/A- & C+ respectivly. My two younger brother-in-laws (13 & 16) both gave it a B+. My sister-in-laws husband (37) gave it a B+ as well. None of them have ever had much exposure to GI JOE other than seeing my collection and knew almost nothing about it. All agreed that the Delta 6 suit scenes were awesome. As for me, I give it a solid B.

All I can say is my expectations were low going in and I was still fairly disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't aweful, but there were some real letdowns. Baroness' whole backstory was wretched, CC's unveiling at the end was laughable (not to mention his origin), and the wardrobe was ghastly. I mean the accelerator suits actually weren't that bad compared to the flashbacks and movie-created plot points('nuff said)!
Redemptions include Snake-Eyes (of course) even with the lips, some of the tech shown, and the fact that there will almost deffinitely be a sequal to correct at least some of the shortcomings of this film (if they listen to fan suggestions and/or possibly replace the director). The special effects were alright, but nothing to write home to mom about.
I've been a die-hard Joe collector for well over 20 years now and still collect. I was already apprehensive about the movie figures and only bought two so far, but after seeing the movie I am even more turned off by them. I'll still collect 25th, Resolute, and other modern era classic joes if Hasbro continues to produce them. I'll even buy a few figs from the movie line if they are spin-offs and somewhat resemble the 82'-94' line, but anything sporting Channing Tatum or Sienna Miller's face I'll leave on the pegs for the kids.
Not so great, but it is, in some sense, G.I. JOE.

I hope the movie does well for the 25th toy lines sake but I was a little dissapointed in the actors that were chosen for the movie. The 3rd Rock kid as Cobra Commander WTF. I also thought they should have a larger and more intimidating Destro. Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow were the main attraction for me and the girls were all hot.
