Therefore I can say that I am neither a lover or hater of GI JOE Rise of Cobra because I have not seen it. Now does it have some strikes against it going into it, yes. Stephen Sommers is hit and miss director for me. Marlon Wayans has had one great performance in his body of work. I was not a fan of the taking Joe out of America nor did it make we warm and tingly to learn the team was of mixed nationality. But, I will go see this film with an open mind like i do all the other films and let it stand on its own legs. To me that is an intelligent thing to do. I am not a child screaming in the candy aisle cause my mommy wont buy me a lollipop. I am a grown man who understands how business and change work..... hand in hand at that! So, to me if you have your concerns, I agree........ have those concerns, but if you hate this film when you have not seen it is just plain ignorant........ to me! Nobody has to share that opinion, its just mine! |

I am to hoarse to complain until I finally see the show.
If it is good I will say so and I will point out specifics. However, it is bad, I will be able to make a critical analysis of it as to why it is so. I will correlate it to everything else I have posted up to this point. I will be unforgiving if it is bad. We fans deserve much for 25+ years of brand loyalty. I tell you to anyone who will listen, if it is bad, we have to get more organized and make contact with Hasbro and Paramount executives. We need to tell them what we want and explain why we believe such things. Believe me, they don't know what people like. They are not psychic and they need to be told. I will make the effort. Will anyone else join me in this effort? Thanks

I have not made my judgements yet but when I do I will have a fork ready for you to eat your word-salad.

Point being that its a little late to be telling them what we want, the movie is done already. |

My attitude has changed. I was excited... Then details came in and I was weary of the final product.
Lately I have accepted that the film is it's own contiunity. Much how battlestar galactica was redirected In a completely different way. To turn an 80s cartoon into a live action movie without updating anything would be a worse disaster than Gili! Change is only good if for the better! Having Optimus say "oops, my bad" and then having a dog take p*ss on him is not for the better lol. Having a Galactus movie without Galactus is not for the better. Making it more realistic is not for the better in my opinion, but those are just my tastes so America may love it. They loved the screaming teenager, cgi version of Transformers so who knows. Of course, this movie may be different than all the other American movies recently, but it doesn't look like it from the little I have seen. :( |

Do you think that Paramount really cares about what a few thousand people on Hisstank care about. Don't get me wrong I love the Tank but paramount can give a rats ass. On top of that if the movie fails miserably we will wait a really really long time if we even ever get another film. there will be no re-boot or re-imagining or film that better mirrors the toy line/comic line/ cartoon line of the 80's.

Well, Michael Bay pretty much said that all the silly people who enjoy seeing robots fight (aka Transformers fans) can go watch something else, his movie was going to be about the human factor (you can watch that bs on cable any time of the day btw). I think GI Joe may be the same, time will tell.

I'm gonna wait and see the reaction of the Joe community before I deciede if I'm gonna go see ROC or not. My expectations are still pretty low unfortunantly. But as pointed above, at least we still have Resolute!!!!
