Not really a review per se, but just some observations on the figures that are in out house.
I bought my daughter (7) DA Scarlett and Baroness. She loves the missile launchers, and I think they are great figures. My Baroness' head doesn't look nearly as manish as the pics here, so I guess that is a plus. Love the articulation on them, and the little things like Scarlett's crossbow holster. My son (9) is at his uncle's, and he called me yesterday that he bought 3 new joes. armor Heavy Duty, armor Duke, and Delta 6 Ripcord. He was giddy over Ripcord, and asked if any other figures were going to be wearing the suit. He told me that he thinks it is awesome. I bought Sgt Stone and Viper Commando. I wish Stone had more accessories, but do like the figure. Viper Commando's rifle sucks, I will be getting something he can actually hold for a weapon. Otherwise they are cool figures. I like the backpack grappling hook and dagger. Just thought I would share that as much as we might hate the launchers and A-suits, the kids (at least mine) seem to love them.

My son loves GI Joe, but he sounded like some people on the tank with all the hate for the new figures. Until he actually saw them and proceeded to spend every penny he had on them (and talked his uncle into getting the rest)

I really enjoy these figures a lot...except.... for Viper Commando's rifle. I don't like to nitpick at all, but I can't defend how awkward it is.

Well I'm sold. I packed away 90% of my 25th figure Joes and 60% of Cobra. I'm pretty much on the RoC side of the fence now. The detail and sculpting and realism of the figures is leaps and bounds ahead of the 25th ones, mostly. They feel like a true 21st century updated range.
The missile launchers haven't actually reduced the other accs, and I even found 1 - Breaker's - to look half decent without the missile in LOL And for 25th fans, even the first release has a ME figure - Thundershot - though tellingly he's the most garish and least realistic one of the lot and I left him on the shelf. There's great repaints of 25th stuff too, and it looks like Leatherneck and other 25ths will continue. Brilliantly sculpted and articulated figures, though |

Glad to hear your kids are into Joe's. Now if only some kids that didn't have a dad that likes it, could get into it. Everytime I'm at TRU, no kids are ever looking at ROC. There is a little Transformers display near the front ROC display, kids just walk right past the Joe's and go to the Transformers. I hate to say it, but I'm still not convinced that kids are going to buy this stuff...
