Opinion is entitled to anyone.
Coherent dialog is expected. Logical discussion encouraged. Haters don't do none of that. there's people that don't like the movie, and just stated that. It's ok. but haters just stick with the "oh, my ass hurts! they raped my childhood!!" stupid motto, and keep going and going and going, just saying that. |

The clip is awesome! I had a bowl of popcorn in front of me (by coincidence), and I started shoveling it in my face. Loved it!
I love the complaints about mindless action....uh...why is it mindless? They're chasing the bad guys who don't want to get caught. There are scenes before it setting it up. Why is this chase scene mindless compared to any other movie's chase scene? Also love the complaints about over-the-top action. Really? You're looking for realistic action? Like in what movies? All action in movies is over-the-top. It's why people go to action films. To see stuff they can't in reality. Also love the complaints about Storm Shadow's hair. Really? Wow. Scraping the bottom of the barrel with that one. Ripcord? He's got some comic relief elements. Pretty much every movie does. He ends up doing heroic things as well. Other than the humor, he's simliar to his original filecard. He wants to be a pilot. The ROC wants the same thing. It looks like GI Joe to me. Great seeing Snake-Eyes and Scarlett in action. I think this movie is going to surprise a lot of people. |

No...they lost people interests (as a result of rehashes and lack of what I stated) which caused a lack of sales which ended the lines..you answered all of that in your previous line by line quotes...and in the end if they do not evolve a story for ROC it will be doomed the same mannerisms. Kids attention spans are very short these days so we will see...and us "old geeks" as you refer to will still be buying it anyway even when timmy the kid moves on to the next big thing.
... if GI Joe is not renewed it will fail, but this new whole RoC move is a fail? The old line died as well as almost any toy line. Video games are today's toys. There's a ton of cultural changes responsibles of the toys demise, it wasn't because the Joes changed, it was because the 90ties changed. It was people different, not the toys. It was the culture, society itself changing. Gi Joe is been the same for years, as well as comic book characters. It has a rehash from time to time, but it's basically the same. The exception is, toys are way more expensive than comic books. Batman had a movie rehash that worked. X men had a movie rehash that worked. Iron man had a movie rehash that worked. GI Joe is not an exception. Just exactly like the above mentioned, it's just another franchise, it's intended to entertain, and make a profit of it. I can't see what's wrong with it.

Not getting me down at all, I'm on the clock and this is passing the time at work. Sides I was just baiting him and he took it hook line and stinker. Made my point and moved on. But you a really on to something about the future of the line. Honestly I would have no problem seeing resolute go on. Joes retire and sometimes step back in for a mission, die off for good, or just fade away and a whole new team comes in a little at a time. What's wrong with that. We keep talking about and new joe for a new time and change. Well let's do it then.

It's mindless because that's how the phrase goes and instead of thinking of something new to say we just follow the easy path. By the way not flaming anyone cause I think it was me who started using that phrase tonight.

But see I'm called a hater and I just tried to have a dialog and what happened? What did we all just see. I tried to talk on topic and I get snipe run away and point finger. It's hard to call someone out on something when you and not them are doing the very thing you are calling them on. By the way did give a list of why many folks not just me are unhappy about this movie and how far did that discussion go? Again how bout you tell us all why it's so cool and don't say it's got action and violence.
Ok, you're right, you're stating an opinion, it's valid blah blah. Don't get me wrong, i personally, wasn't pointing a finger at you. The thing is, there's a been a lot, and i mean a LOT of discusion, with TONS of valid and shitty points. I've stated so many times my points that i'm not bothering anymore, cos it is a fact that no matter how valid and how many right points i (and a lot of defenders) have, the counter-argument it's always "but those are not MY joes, my ass hurt, bo hoo". It's like discussing with a onion...a whinny onion. Quote:

LoL
I very much doubt it. It's you actually discussing something that you even actually don't like. ;) In any case, it was good to have a civil discussion, man. Gotta go to work, dammit.
