2 months ago, I wasn't going.
But I got to thinking about how much I love all 3 X-Men movies. Those movies changed alot of things about what I knew as "The X-Men". GI Joe is the same thing. Lots of back story that could NEVER be jammed into a 2 hour movie. So I'm going opening weekend. |

Why? Because I have the gaul to not fall lock step in line and love everything Hasrbo gives us with a GI Joe logo on it?
I have read the script and I think it stinks. I also think that the casting decisions in many cases are questionable at best, the coustme direction leaves a lot to be desired, and the Director is a hack. (Van Helsing anyone?). The trailers and comercials have done nothing but reinforce these beliefs. Call my opinion sad if that makes you feel better, but remember the argumnt can be made that your opinion is too. Sorry but I liked Van Helsing it was dumb but I had a good time, good action, liked the characters/actors, and loved the atmosphere. |

I was set on NOT seeing ROC (or the Transformers, for that matter) months ago. However, I picked up the ROC novelization and actually enjoyed it. Despite the writing style, and some annoying editorial oversights, the plot and characterization kept me entertained. I'm definitely going to see the movie in the theater as a result. I know a lot depends on how the actors deliver their lines and how certain scenes are shot, but based on the story elements in the book, at least, I do think it will be an entertaining, and dare I say fun, movie.

Going to see it definitely....no deep reason on why or why not, just looks like a very enjoyable summer smash 'em up flick to watch compounded with the fact that this is a well-invested live GIJOE movie.
