Thanks to Destro at comic con providing new pictures we see an ARAH Grand Slam with the new GI Joe ROC logo on his chest and we see ARAH figures packaged with vehicles in ROC packs that have/are coming out. Therefor, the evidence suggest that ARAH and its original history in comics and cartoon has been erased/replaced thanks to ROC and its storyline. By the way its is interesting in the Q&A forum when Hasbro was speaking about the new ROC Flash figure they refer to ROC as a "Fantasy". What's your take on this?

How is the history erased and replaced? That could only happen if one would suggest that RoC is the only G.I.Joe there is, without any other forms or incarnations.
This is just the latest incarnation. The brand reinvents itself every few years, just look at recent history: Joe vs Cobra Spy Troops Valor vs Venom Sigma 6 25th Anniversary/Modern Era/Classics Now RoC |

Did the X-men Movies erase/replace all the previous X-men continuity? Me thinks not. CIAD is right, G.I.Joe has had a ton of different incarnations in the past decade or so. I wouldn't go throwing all your vintage stuff in the garbage just yet.

That has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

Good lord, how many times a week do we have to see a remake of the same thread? |

That Grand Slam figure looks exactly like the vintage. The only difference is a small logo. A new GI Joe symbol. Is a symbol identifying the team erased the past? It's foolish to think so. Also Flash looks awesome. They released a 100% accurate version of flash a year ago. There's no point in releasing the same figure again. They made him just that much cooler. It's another costume, another rendition. have there not been different looks to each figure in the 80's? Just because they're doing it now doesn't mean it's being erased. It's exactly the same as it was. There was new versions of characters and new looks many times, but all of a sudden now it's an abomination. At least the appeal is back on kids, just like when you were kids. At least now kids can grow up on what you loved. Someday maybe if they stay on the right track a new generation will be just as protective and ridiculous as fans today. That is the magic of toys. It's a cycle, we just have to keep it going generation after generation.

hahaha yea.
I mean how many complaints were there when VvV, Spy Troops and Sigma 6 came out? How many said "they are going to screw up ARAH!" and low an behold the whole legacy of ARAH stayed intact? |

ARAH is alive and well in my nerd room, thanks very much.
Nothing's been "erased". ROC is the new deal.

The whole reason I got into GI Joes is because of the 2002 and spytroops line. At the time those seemed 1000 times more appealing to me than the older GI Joes. Now that I've became a pretty big fan I've learned to appreciate all aspects of GI Joe. What seems like trash to one person is the greatest thing in the world to another. Who knows maybe in ten years or so they make a new rendition I learn to hate, and the thing I've come to realize is that it's all a repeating cycle; new Fan to old fan. So people here should be more accepting of the new, cause when they grew up what is now old was the new.
