I really like the Cobra Gunship - that was another vehicle from the movie that did not live up to it's full potential. Imagine if they threw some rotors on it and made it a helicopter. I could also say the same for the Dragonfly XH-1 - another great toy design that was hampered by it being such a small toy. Make the helicopter at least as long and high as the original dragonfly and it would of been a worthy successor to the original. Some real wasted potential on those vehicles.

I'm sure it would be ok for a child or an adult who never had the vintage Night Raven. But of you had the vintage jet then yeah, the RoC one failed in comparison.

Was it bad? No. It was abysmal. It looked like a Fisher-Price toy. Spy Troops vehicles were works of art in comparison.

Gotta love toy collector hyperbole. Nothing's goofier than whining about a toy being a toy. And they're all toys, man. I guarantee if the ROC Raven had come out when we were kids, we would've loved it. As it is, I dig the ARAH Night Raven, but my only exposure to it as a kid was through the one my friend owned, and he'd never let anyone play with it because it broke early on and he was afraid of breaking it further. Flash forward 23-24 years later and my son had a blast using his ROC Raven like a shotgun, mowing down Joes. That's the real difference, I think: one was a toy, the other was more like a model. I just checked and that solid sumbitch still functions like a champ. It also says something that my son, a kid who is emphatically dunzo with toys, still has it displayed on top of his bookcase.

Single seater vehicles (unless very small) suck as toys. Plus they defeat the purpose of selling toys- to sell more toys to fill the empty seats. That is not even Business 101, that is common sense. Last edited by Adventure Fun; 07-15-2019 at 11:28 PM.. |
