How is that Sigma Six thou? That's what I thought at first, but besides the angled plate look (which resembles the angled muscles of the Sigma Six figures) I just don't see it...

think of the suit High Tech made for Duke when he had to attacked the Cobra North Pole castle and the the other high powered suit he made for him when he took on the whole Cobra B.A.T army to try an rescue the team.
Tho the accelerator suits don't actually look like the Sigma Six versions it does have a bit of the S6 essence to it. |

Okay, I'll give you that, but you can say that about any incarnation of Joe. There's something in RoC from all the eras.
The nanomite enhanced Neo-Vipers are a "homage" to the Valor vs. Venom days.

funny for someone that wrote the comic "on the fly", I DO remember in a letter column, Hama himself saying that he had been waiting a LONG time to reveil that Firefly was the faceless master and it was all his fault Hard Master died, setting off a huge chain of events..yadayada....''On the fly" my ass...
Its like Stan Lee...has NOTHING bad to say about ANYTHING hollywood does to his creations, cause hes SO glad that their getting made in the 1st place...I think that Hamma feels the same way...

Actually, Joe was created on the Fly. One element that he was able to work in doesn't discount that the rest of the storylines and plots were created on the fly.
Hell, the original Joe was based on a proposal for a marvel comic called Fury Force which would have had the "Joes" working for Marvel's Shield... Which come to think of it was a spy organization. So I guess if you do go back to the original Joe, it was a spy organization. So I guess there is quite a bit of Bond in Joe.

Ok, anyway I was sucked into the hatred machine about RoC and no Im still not buying the toys...just not really into em. HOWEVER .....I'm not gonna bitch and say "Thats NOT Snake Eyes!!"...Isnt it cooler that little kids have an idea who Snake Eyes is, rather then him be kept a secret to a bunch of 30 yr olds? ...Just an example. I'm trying to come around..really I am. In closing I will say this, Larry Hama never did me wrong...ever, in every single page. He literally gave life to plastic action figures and immortalized them. If the friggin guy says he enjoyed the movie, its time for me to shut up and wait and see for myself! I refuse to go against that man, the least I...the least WE can do is give him the benefit of the doubt and draw the conclusion when the end credits roll. Dont everyone go saying he's doing it for a paycheck and he has to say anything...why are you guys so quick to snap on the person greatly responsible for giving you something you have held dear to your heart for years now and to this day?? I'm reformed...I will shut up and keep negative words regarding RoC to myself until I see the movie. I owe that much to Mr. Hama. Last edited by PitViper; 07-13-2009 at 10:36 PM.. |

I dont think anyone is really using Sigma 6 as a parallel to RoC, I hope not anyway. I think they just use Sigma 6 because like RoC its not the classic ARAH we love. I think the point when people say Sigma 6 is that, it was the RoC of its time..when people saw it and thought the sky was falling.
