For those who have read the comic book trade paperback and or novel of the movie, what have you noticed from the footage that you have seen so far from the 2 US trailers, exclusive clips, tv spots, international trailers thats missing in the comic/novel.
1. The scene in the white house from the french trailer isnt in the comic. 2. The line Destro says I want to warheads to launch in 1 hour not in the comic 3. The shot of the main Joe cast in the black armor(minus Hawk) not in the comic. 4. The mission is a go line from Hawk, not in the comic. |

thats why no matter if you read the comic or book it will always be dif then the movie no matter what movie it is. thats why i think it is funny. that ppl who read the joe book think it will be great or good. cuse of what they read in a book that wont follow the movie 100% Also you have to see it then compare to the book. and i bet there will be alot more changes then those.

The comic is really abbreviated. There is no way it can include every line of dialogue from the movie

You can easily get a feel for the plot and how the characters are handled by reading the novelization or comic. The actual script is going to be different because of how the scenes are paced differently. Dialogue isn't going to be exact from one to the other.
Unless you're a stickler that dialogue remain the same, the comic adaption and novelization are great ways to get a feel for how the movie's plot flows and how the actual story is (which you cannot get from watching trailers). They also give you a good feel for the characters. A character's personality will carry thru regardless of how close the dialogue is. To think that reading a comic adaption or novelization can't give you a good feel for how a movie is, that's just silly.

-No Shipwreck in the novel but was in the leaked script
-Snake Eyes was French, Scarlett was Australian, Hawk was British, and Storm Shadow was Korean in the leaked script but in the novel it doesn't mention SE's nationality at all, Scarlett is now Canadian, Hawk is American, and SS is Japanese. -The Arashikage Dojo was in Paris in the leaked script and is in Tokyo in the novel -Lifeline and Sgt. Stone were added in the novel. Stone b/c it's Brenden Fraser's part in the movie -Zartan kills Covergirl in the novel, where SS does it in the leaked script -Snake Eyes' speaking part was removed from the script when Hama joined the crew and is not in the novel -Covergirl is a Czech Lieutenant and is not American according to the novel. She is a German Lieutenant in the leaked script The Prequel novel also has differences on the nationalities of the GIJoe team. All but Breaker in the prequel ARE American and are straight from the original filecards(other than Ripcord still being black and Duke being an Officer). The cofidential files say Snake Eyes is believed to have been born to American parents living in Japan he is also an orphan discovered in the kitchen stealing from the Arishakage Clan. Covergirl and Hawk are american, Heavy Duty is British, Breaker is Marroccon and Scarlett is Canadian. Also it said Zartan works for the highest bidder and that even though CC help Destro survived and gave him the mask to help him live Destro recents CC and if not cause of CC mind control would try take back control. |

the Baron is portrayed as much younger man and is named Daniel in the movie but in the comic is an older gentleman named Leon.

I noticed a few dialogue changes in some scenes from the novel to the movie (I'd say for the most part, what winds up in the movie is better than what was in the book in these scenes.
When Duke disarms the warhead in paris, SS punches him out, in the novel, SS tasers him (Perfect opportunity for a "Don't tase me bro" line, I kid, I kid ) The scene with Hawk and McCullen talking about what Hawk's group was named is in the novel but not the movie, it includes a great scene with Zartan and Cover Girl. CC and Destro escape at the end of the novel and Ana seems darker and more like she's gonna become the Baroness again, the movie all are captured and Ana seems more sad than foreboding and sinister-like |
