I think it's FAR too early to be calling this line a success. By these standards the Indiana Jones and Star Trek toy lines are a success too.
That said, I do not like what I have seen, I am buying a Snow Cat and a Rage. I will also buy a Marlon Wayans but you know what that's for. I maintain that I do not like this stuff, and I don't think I will like the movie at all. Those of you that do, great buy the hell out of this line so that Modern Era can come back for the rest of us. Just don't expect everyone to jump on the ROC Bandwagon.

Gamble I agree, but times have changed. Kids today have no imaginations and are alot harder to please. The times of kids having an imagination and enjoying cartoons are Saturday morning is over. Just try watching a kid show now a days and you will puke. Most of the shows are not even cartoons. Me and my girl went to see TF 2 yesterday and we loved it, but when we were walking this 10 year old kid was complaining saying the movie had like 7 plots and it sucked and it was an insult to his inteligence. Me and my girl looked at each other and laughed and started talking about how awesome are childhoods were and how kids now a days are deprived of being kids.
Just think about how schools was when were growing up and how now kids are being fed harder and harder assigments and information. How they are expected to perform in school. No wonder kids are dropping ot left and right and are unemployment rate is huge. Point is GI Joe needs to evolve and be presented in a way kids now a days can accept it and like it, because if you show a kid the GI Joe we grew up watching. He would laugh in our face and call us gay. Last edited by SnakeEyes2184; 07-07-2009 at 12:16 AM.. |

I agree for the most part, but the C2, W2 or whatever figures (Elite Vipers, Flash, etc) really impressed me as good FIGURES. And I can work them in as figures in my universe, I am always happy to get good figures (accelerator suit figures need not apply).

I'm going to be buying quite a few things, but mostly as supplemental to my real GI Joe collection. These guys are mostly extras, but great figs none the less.
However, once GI Joe completely blows chunks at the box office, will these figures sell? That'll be the real test. A lot of good will toward the Indy line went down the tubes with Indy 4 and I think it's safe to say that Indy 4 will be a classic in comparison to the ROC nonsense. |

Like I said while Hasbro trys real hard to satisfy the grown ups they know the big bucks are with 5-10 demographic and if you show these kid what we grew up loving they would laugh in our face.
Look at it this way. Most kids I see playing with toys are playing with Spiderman Movie figs, Transformers and Power Rangers. In other word there is place for cartoons in these kids mind. They are interested in character who are real. Not pencil draw animation like we were. Time change and so does GI Joe, Transformer and everything else ufforturnately. |

I'm not saying anything definite. (There is hope in Editing) but with the Trailers and the Script I have read I have little hope sadly.
