Yeah...OK. Good riddance. Nice attempt to play the "poor persecuted me" card, though. Nevermind that your original post is still quoted, so anyone with half a brain that can tell the difference between insulting people and criticizing a product can see for themselves that you were being a flaming troll.
Here's a clue: "ROC and all the product associated with it sucks!" is a criticism of a product. There are thousands of posts with similar sentiments across these boards that haven't been edited, excised or otherwise changed. Bonus points if you provide any genuine insight as to why they suck, but it's not absolutely necessary. "Anyone who's buying ROC is an idiot who's drinking Hasbro's kool-aid" is an insult to people simply for having a different opinion than your own. Which is exactly what your original post was. Of course, you knew that already. Now you're just trying to turn yourself into the "victim" and continue being an a*****e at the same time. How very passive-aggressive of you. If anyone feels offended by my comments, I do apologize. That is NEVER my intent. But I refuse to let someone dictate to me what I will and will not like. I will patiently wait for this fad to pass, and for Modern Era to return. Now please, just let that be the end of it. Get back to talking about the success of this stuff. Flaming is not, and never has been, my goal.

Whoa.. I have yet to post in this thread until now. Maybe I shoulda been here all along because the flames in here are gonna have this thread closed by NOON!
Oh by the way.. I buy the ROC figures, and yes they have a GI Joe logo on them. I will leave on the pegs what I do not want and the rest come with me. I have spent a total of 130.00 in 3 days on figures and vehicles. Are ROC toys a success? Well, there is a running total in another thread and people in the Tank alone have spent over 13,000 dollars. I hate to tell you but after Wal Mart gets their stock in... that dollar amount is gonna grow! If you don't like them... don't buy them. If you don't like them and don't buy them but want to come in here and start a flame war, you can pay the cost to meet the boss! |

Let it die, vadersquest already made it clear that he doesn't want a flamewar going on. I stated my feelings on the toys, and the fact that the fandom is being strong-armed into accepting ROC (through the termination of other lines). I had no intent on putting down others, regardless of how you wish to take it. It just feels like I was shopping for Modern Era yesterday, and then someone attempted to herd me like a sheep into the ROC section. When I say I don't like it, the louder voices in the group say something must be wrong with me. It is not wrong to dislike ROC.
Look, there has not been one single person come down on Anti-RoCers for not liking the product. People only comment when the Anti-RoCer uses comments like "sheep" and such. Don't like it, more power to you, just don't knock (which you did, even in the above post) those that do. I never liked the Dreadnoks, didn't buy 'em, didn't feel forced to buy 'em, even commented I didn't like 'em and that was the end of it. Intent or not, using phrases like "herd me like sheep" is a veiled insult towards those that actually like the product. It's saying that anyone that likes it is a sheep. Same with the "strongarm" comment. No one is beign strong armed into anything. No one, not even Hasbro, is forcing anyone to do anything. There's ME product coming, with the 7 packs, and undoubtedly more later on. Be patient and if you're not buying RoC, then stay out of a thread called "RoC is a success" and leave the insulting and insinuating comments to yourself. As for the edited part: Come on, don't pull the "my opinion is being censored" card, you had to know that card was out of line when you were writing the post. I've been asked by Vadersquest to edit my posts a couple of times, and I don't feel like anyone is stomping on my opinion or right to express it. When you insult someone for liking something (which you did) you should expect someone to say something. Now again, no one in any of the messages I've seen has ever insulted or said someone was wrong for not liking RoC. The insults have always begun and come from the Anti-RoCers. You don't like it, that's fine, just don't call the ones that do "sheep".

RAAAAAHHHHHHHHRRRRRR
They are toys. This is a hobby. They are not peoples lives. They are not a religion. Go outside and get some air. My god. You act like the interwebz was only made for porn and flamewars. Oh yeah...it was.

There is a hunger for GI Joe product that causes some to buy anything with the label on it. That is not a demeaning statement, just a true one. I could have said it better in my first post (the wording I used was a bit harsh, I agree). Again, there is no flamewar here. We are all fans of GI Joe. Some of us like the new direction, some don't. But there is no reason to dislike one another.

My kids like the new Joe's and I believe them to be fairly well constructed compared to other toys that have wandered into my house. There is no way my kids or myself would have ever purchased anything GI Joe related without the movie being released. So if the new movie/product line creates a new wave of fans/collectors, I would deem that a success from a commercial standpoint. Seems like a lot of people are really bashing the toyline for what it isnt. All these scuplts/releases are brand new to vast majority that will be buying it in the next few months. I have a Ice Viper and Firefly on my desk, three weeks ago that image would have never been possible.

Yep. Which is a shame if they are doing that, there are some nice pieces in the RoC line.

What really gets to me is people saying we are buying this stuff cause it has the name GI Joe. Why can people simply understand we are being cause we like them, cause they are real cool toys.
I did not buy these figs cause of a drought or because they simply say GI Joe. I bought them cause I really like them and the Vehicle and figures look great. |

Holy shit on ice made from the tears of a thousand angels!!!These are awesome figures!
I just got the TRU Firefly and two more Neo-Vipers (4 total now). I want at least one more Viper Commando, another Zartan, BBQ, Shipwreck, Breaker, two more Dukes, another Ripcord, hell this whole friggin toyline is an epic win for Hasbro. They've seriously made up for the Indiana Jones fiasco. If that makes me a zombie then you all better hide your friggin' brainz!!! RAAAAAWR!!! |
