The problem is instead of putting competent people in the toy areas most of the retailers treat it as a soft area and just stick someone who has no idea about the industry. I remember when the Transformers Animated stuff came out I made it a point to put it out as soon as I saw on the toy pallet when it came off the truck. One of the Asst. Managers was about to give me grief for it until I pointed out one of my usual guys came in and bought over a hundred dollars of the stuff. I said this in front of my store manager and the Asst. that was over my department at the time and I haven't heard any nonsense from anyone since. My current Asst. Manager has come right out and told me to work any freight I can out to the floor. He even said he relied on me to tell him about things because he didn't know anything about toys. The REAL problem is most people in retail management don't understand the way the industry works. I see the same thing sometimes with game releases. The smart money would be to stay open an extra 30 minutes to sell the damn thing and get the extra income. I have only saw this happen recently for the Twighlight dvd, you think they would learn from things like this, somehow they don't
