A lot of people complaining about the movie being too rediculous seem to have selective amnesia with regards to ninja, BATs, Mindbender, Serpentor, wrestlers, and dinosaurs flying F-14s. Okay, I made the last one up, but it would have been the most awesome Cobra plot in history if they did. |

I could so see that happening during the VvV days.

The Pit. American Heroes - Albeit only a few. Recognizable characters, the good guys and the bad guys. Futuristic weapons and vehicles. Ninjas. Intertwined relationships that extend far into the characters pasts. Death of major characters. Origin of Duke not being on the Joe's from the beginning. etc, etc, etc....... I could go on and on........ The simple truth is if they are channeling the aura of GI Joe from the 80's comic, unfortunately they are doing their job. |

You cant really say they are bringing back the style and vibe....... as much as they are bringing elements from that comic run.

I like the word "shills".
Shill-a person who publicizes or praises something or someone for reasons of self-interest, personal profit, or friendship or loyalty. Seems there's alot of people here that depend on the ROC doing well. |

But the idea is there that they are taking elements of the Joe comic and using it in the movie universe. I think the style is there: over the top action that you have to have a pretty big suspension of belief on.

How do people here depend on RoC doing well? That makes no sense whatsoever.

Well after meeting Ray Park on Saturday and hearing his enthusiasm for the movie I will go see it and give it a shot. I am still pretty sure it will suck.

Those are the people who sponsor the site, and a number of our members sell toys online as a source of income. In addition I bet at least a few of the sponsors are Hiss Tank members. If ROC doesn't do well and the toys are hard to move they stand to lose profit. |

Without seeing the movie and hearing the tone of the writing you're right, I can't really say they are bringing back the style and vibe.
