I mean Rocky isn't a film I enjoy however i RESPECT itz origins... I respect that it was not only a vision of Stallone's but he also wrote the damn thing. I personally do not rate Taxi Driver as a film as much as I do a director's opus... meaning the movie doesn't do anything for me as a whole but the work and innovation of it are enormously apparent. i think itz all about opinions but I DO believe that there are some opinions that are held together by an innocent ignorance be it lack of exposure or lack of attention to movies that are an actual expression of art. You can enjoy Rise of Cobra, but that will never make it a great film. Film is an art form first and foremost... when it is watered down or becomes a money-sucking hireling, it is no longer art... itz a trick. if anything it is the 'art' of vamping consumers who don't know better. Now maybe not everyone is striving for art... well then get the fuck out of the arts. Now I don't want you to think i'm suggesting that only high-brow, independent, obscure films are the only art found in film. Independence Day is an amazing film... anyone that disagrees would probably be unable to justify, let alone defend their OPINION. I didn't say they had to like it... but down to the raw facts... itz an amazing FILM... an amazing work of art... taking in everything that it is... again... you can hate it... but you can't deny that what went into a film like that makes it great. Another example is Miami Vice. A lot of people missed out on this because they were either unfamiliar with Michael Mann or just shrugged it off because itz based on a show they barely remember. However, EVERY single shot in that film is sacrosanct and precise. It NEVER wavers from being a focused art on Mann's part. EVERY cinematographic detail is purposeful... every shot meticulous. Again... you can hate it...but you can't dismiss the work as a work. you can only dismiss the entertainment... which is where opinion comes in. So yeah it is all about opinion on the entertainment side... but itz impossible to deny the art and craft of a film. Sommers does not make 'film'... he makes movies... he makes entertainment. any art would be attributed to a mute ray park or a professionally trained Rachael Weiss (Mummy). art within entertainment.

To say I have low expectations would make it sound like there are some expectation still there. I have no faith in this movie. I hated the Transformers movie as well.
Directors need to realize one thing....There is a reason you are making a movie twenty years later, cause it worked. |

I read through the kids "movie storybook guide" and hit on all the major plot points, and I will say this is not the Joe we Know, but it MAY be an entertaining lark of a movie.
The plot is kinda all over the place and very simplistic, and in all reality, it would have been better suited being a 5-minute backstory intro to the REAL GI joe movie.

Put in history where it belongs with the rest of the Sigma 6 stuff at Marshalls and Ross.

And one can certainly say that Rise of Cobra is a great film (after viewing the film of course) if that person feels that way. You yourself said that Rocky is a film you enjoy and I said I am saying it is a Ground-breaking movie that I think is great. Who is right and wrong. The opinion of it being great and just enjoyable is debatable. There is no right or wrong. Now if you said it was not ground breaking then you would be wrong..........it was. Now as far as Independence Day, the hero was Will Smith.... again if I cant stand Will Smith, guess what..... the film is flawed from the get go and therefore ceases to be Amazing. If I don't like Alien films, again the film will not be amazing because I don't like that genre. What is art is an opinion unless you have clear cut criterias on what defines art. |

clearly your intimation is that those lines stink and that is why they are at Marshalls and Ross, but you have to ignore the fact that they are on the shelves at those stores right next to your precious 25th Anniversary stuff, so what does that say about them? that pesky logic, it does your positions in every time.
