Yea, I have to admit, Hasbro must be smoking crack charging the prices there charging for the ROC toys. The economy is in the toilet and they are charging outrageous prices. I don't like to admit it, but the ROC toy line is doomed and it hasn't even came out yet...

All signs point to figures being the same price as 25th/ME. I thought I saw Raven at $34.99 initially with a $5 increase, so $39.99. It has lights and shoots missiles and shit. And it has a handle. I don't think the price is what is going to send these to clearance. I'd bet Hasbro learned from the Indy line. A surplus us a loss. It's better to have people pissed that there's not enough of something than so many that stores cancel future orders.

Thanks to Hisstank and some other websites before, I got great deals! UBP $13.84, MMC $25, Cobra Mountain $10 shipped, 25th vehicles $8, $12 DVD packs. All of these I would never have bought if it weren't for the sale. So I see myself most likely getting some ROC stuff cheap...I'll just be patient.

Anyone arguing that prices are going to "kill" this line should therefore be arguing that no parents are going to buy ANY toys for their kids this year...because they've almost ALL gone up in price. That's the logical fallacy you're presenting with these statements: In order for them to "automatically" be true, parents have to be refusing to buy toys at all. Therefore EVERY toy line will fail. Beyond that...there are already indications that we'll be "out of the recession" by Christmastime. PS: The single cards for RoC are listed at $6.99...same price the 25A/ME were going for. |

Perhaps but Retailers are more than likely, given past experiance, charge more than MSRP especially places like wal-mart. But fear not all they will more than likely have sales on this stuff. TF2 movie toys are already on sale in lotsa places and i am pretty sure RoC will do the same...especially once the word of mouth gets around.

I don't see how this line, or any, ending up in clearance is a shock. Everything on the mass market ends up in clearance at some point. I can't think of any mass market line (25e Anniversary included) in recent years hasn't had it's day in the clearance isle...

Ya know...thats a DAMN good point. I think many are predicting a FASTER than normal run to the clearance aisle though

"Putting it on sale" is not a sign of weakness in a line. It's a sign of smart marketing synergy by the retailers. PS: The $6.99 comes from Target's computers, not a MSRP. That's what that particular retailer, at least, will be charging for it. Quote:
Some RoC toys will undoubtedly end up on clearance (Certainly the Pit, probably the Night Raven in some markets). It'll be right after Christmas, just like every other movie line that's come out this year (Particularly Terminator: Salvation). They won't clearance it out before then, even if not a single figure moves between July 11th and December 25th, because there's always the hope that Holiday sales will pick up. I wonder if all the people who jumped on the Joe Train thanks to the 25th will stick around though for what comes after the movie line?
