this is too good...oh man just too funny...
i was talking with my bro yesterday that idiot hollywood studios should put polls online about whether people would a particular idea for a movie BEFORE actually going forward with it... point in case, the new karate kid movie coming out (supposedly) with Jacky Chann and Will Smiths kid...BAD IDEA...just ask ANYONE! |

Now if you're talking the parts that make up a movie: camera angles, cinematopgraphy (sp?), editing, etc.. That's different from a good/bad movie based on story content. But the basic idea is the same. One person's concept of good or bad is different from another persons. And that goes for the parts that make up a movie too. Now some parts are more subjective then others. Like a bad editing job would be noticeable no matter if you like/dislike the movie. But things like lighting and camera angles are still pretty subjective.

if you can't reshoot the scenes with CC, then CGI a v1 style mask into the shots. if you can, re-edit thee audio with Rip Cord as Stalker, Hardball, or Bulletproof. something. I mean that seriously. no matter how they re-edit it, even if it makes the movie better, will matter if people don't see it out of disgust. Hasbro will just have to eat the aborted figures that have to be changed. heck, they can sell them on ebay as canceled product and make a mint while they repackage Ripcord figures as Stalker and redo CC's mask. the negativity surrounding Transformers really was just from a very few internet whiners. but the criticism of G.I. Joe is growing rapidly across the internet. that tide needs to be turned quickly IMO. |

But again, a sample of ice cream is the complete product.
If want to use Ice Cream, then would need to say "I tasted the flavoring of the ice cream before it was mixed with the other ingrediants and I didn't like it, therefore I know I won't like the finished product" or something like that.

Why online? Not everyone uses the web. So an online poll would be a pretty limited poll and depending on the demographic being considered may even be meaningless for that particular movie. Besides, it's the internet. The internet is the worst place to get thoughts about anything.

I've been saying this from the beginning as well. but with as much negative opinion that is circulating the web and permeating people's opinions who are impressionable and unsure about seeing it or not, such a deviation is proving to be very bad for it in generating interest and excitement. I don't mind black Rip Cord or Jason Cobra Commander, but if Paramount wants to turn the tide on the wave of negativity around this movie, some fan wank fixes might be in order.

Hasbro would've been screwed, of course, with zero new Joe product hitting shelves this year and a metric crapload of movie product sitting in warehouses waiting to be released. Very interesting. I don't know if this is true or not but it does give me some things to think about.

He hasn't been out there talking up the movie too much, but then again, he's got Transformers 2 coming in a couple weeks. I'd imagine his primary concern is that a massive failure by G.I. Joe will torpedo all those other licensed movies they've been talking about doing...like seemingly the entire Parker Brothers board game line.... Paramount will break even regardless, because TF2 will probably be a huge hit that can negate any losses taken on G.I. Joe. Hasbro will be in the same boat...lots of toy sales of TF2 even if RoC rots on pegs. But whether the rumor is true or not, it's certainly true that a bad enough bomb could equal "no more Joe" for anyone, whether they like the movie or not. If the retailers and chief shareholders don't want the brand to continue...it won't, no matter what anyone else at Hasbro might want. Last edited by Jmacq1; 06-11-2009 at 11:50 AM.. |
