Hasbro has to realize that this type of garbage (weapons 3 times the size of these figures and neon missiles and torpedos) is what finished off Gi Joe!!! At least for me. This is one reason why I only collect the 82 -86 series.

They just go in a pile of parts for me. Not a fan of them, but I can deal. As long as the figures are good, I don't make too big of a deal about it.
For some reason, Hasbro seems to think that ginormous weapons appeal to kids. I beleive them to be insane.

Honestly, who really cares? Every single figure comes with a ton of awesome gear that AREN'T huge, oversized spring-loaded weapons, why does it matter if they're in there, too? Just toss 'em away and forget about them, no skin off your nose. It's not like that's all that the figures are coming with.

I imagine there are some lame toy execs that mandates that all new figures must have a stupidly huge firing missile gimmick. It's the same with the Star Wars TCW figures. They think the kids won't like it unless it shoots something.
A firing missile seems to be put in even when it's not even appropriate. Take the new Terminator 6" figure of the T-1 the freaking gun barrels shoot out as a missile. Now that's just stupid. What bothers me are the firing missile gimmicks that are permanently attached to the toy as with some of the Star Wars figures and vehicles. Last edited by sharky; 06-03-2009 at 01:50 PM.. |

Don't like em? Toss 'em in a box and move on. They don't detract from the figure itself in any way whatsoever. If you just don't like the figure, then it doesn't affect you anyway, because you wouldn't have been buying it all. Complaining about pack-in spring loaded weapons is about the pettiest thing possible for supposedly-grown collectors to be whining about. They're not permanently attached and are easily discarded if you don't like them, leaving you with a perfectly normal action figure with a bunch of other accessories and a stand. The one that comes with Firefly actually looks like the rocket launcher that he fired in Resolute.
The rest that I have seen will go in a box with the sound attack weapons that I amassed. Hasbro should have a junk plastic recycling program.
