I dunno, I have 2 little brothers (4 and 6) and every time they come over, the only thing they want to play with is the Resolute 5 pack missile launcher. They completely ignore my approximately 200 figures.

So long as they aren't molded into their hands, who cares...
the only fun spring loaded one i ever got, was a bolo launcher and it came with an old Predator figure, man that thing was fun...I'm going to dig it out and play with it!

If the inclusion of a spring loaded missile is the only reason you're not buying the figure, you have issues...
Seriously, what does it matter? No one is forcing you to keep them or use them or display them. Open it up, throw it away. End of story. Have a good day. Stop complaining about something that really doesn't matter. It wasn't the spring loaded missiles that killed G.I. Joe. It was all of us growing up and not buying/playing with toys (until we got older and could justify it as "collector's items"). We grew up and there was no new fanbase that latched onto Joe. The generation after us wasn't interested in military toys. That's what killed G.I. Joe. Spring-loaded weapons had nothing to do with it.

How many McDonald's Happy Meal toys come with spring loaded things? ALOT of them. And guess what.. kids dig it. They love 'em.

Honestly, who really cares? Every single figure comes with a ton of awesome gear that AREN'T huge, oversized spring-loaded weapons, why does it matter if they're in there, too? Just toss 'em away and forget about them, no skin off your nose. It's not like that's all that the figures are coming with.
Justin Agreed. What's unfortunate is people relate this go around of spring loaded weapons to the weapons offered in the early 90s. The biggest "death of the line" was the fact that during that timeframe, many people in their mid to late 20's and early 30's stopped collecting. Sure, one can say that it was the death then...but I'd hardly say that's the case now. I think we (the community) as a whole sometimes feel a sense of entitlement when it comes to non-essential commodities such as toys. That said, if a honkin' large nerf missile is going to sell 3 more figures to "lil billy and lil suzy", then so be it. There's plenty of other stuff as Justin mentioned included with each figure to make it a worthwhile purchase. It's not like the ROC line won't have "off screen" sets chock full of Modern Era goodness... Spring Loaded Weapons < Rest of gear included. |

Now if the only equipment the figures came with was the spring-loaded missile launchers, then there would be a valid complaint.
But as it's just a throw-in accessory, there's nothing to complain about. I bet Marauder's wishs the spring-loaded was the only accessory. He'd make enough to retire.

So there goes that reason. $7.99 is the price of 3-3/4" action figures now, doesn't matter what is included in the package.
