yeah, I am saying it.
this thing looks like a dead rat dropped on a 3 week old turd sandwich. I am saying if it looks this bad we should boycott it. now I know there are some of you who no matter what it looks like if it says G.I. Joe on it you will go see it opening day. In that event I propose you buy a ticket to some other movie at the same time and go see joe instead. The way you get Hollywood to stop letting bad directors direct bad movies is with the vote of the almighty dollar. If something isn't profitible and is not considered ground breaking or an artistic acheivement they will shun those involved.

after that last 42 second clip, i learned a lot...the cheap props, the bad acting, poor CGI, no accent, SS making no attempt to hide his identity, and the suits, i can unequivically say i will not go see this movie...
before this clip, i was still optimistic that there would be some good in it somewhere, but if this is an indication of the rest of the movie, i am done... NO RoC for me! |

Bout damn time, I was going to start this myself but the clip did it for me...rofl
I dunno how it can be salvaged after this airs on MTV...might as well put it on CNN first so they can say "BREAKING NEWS! UN special forces team tests new super suits and stops madman! NEWS at 11"

I'll see it just to have the RIGHT to gripe.
That last clip makes it look like a "Gladiator Movie". |

I really wanted to give it a chance. I really did. I made it a point not to prejudge it, despite all of the people blasting it. I wanted to have an open mind.
I hope to Mindbender's Mama that clip is not what this movie is gonna be like. It sure looks like it does, and I feel ill. What in the hell were they thinking?

My expectations are really really low, X-men 3 low. I just hope that like Star War episode 1 and Indiana jones 4, it doesn't make me hate the brand.
I sold all my 90+ starwars figues right after that movie, and have never bought one again. And anytime I think about the kingdom of the crystal skull, I feel like i have been punched in the gut. So at this point my hope(barring a miracle) is the movie is bad, but doesnt turn me against the brand. |

I will not be seeing this movie. I agree with the poster of this thread, if you let Hollywood grind out crap and people go see it anyways, you are letting them know that you will take anything. It's like having Hasbro do repaints over and over and over again and having the collectors keep buying them. Paramount and Hasbro are not getting my money on this film.
On another note, I am happy to pay for a dvd of GI JOE Resolute! You don't need live action with that one continuing as a series. Keep it animated. Keep the Resolute toy line going with some vehicles. I am happy with that. The movie will come and go and be forgotten. The movie toys will sit on the shelves and get cleared out soon enough. If you really want them, wait for them on clearance. You wont have a hard time finding them. |

Yeah that mtv preview looks beyond corny. The first trailer gave it some hope. I will still see it.. And perhaps laugh at it out-loud in the theatre if its really bad.. might as well have fun on a sinking ship.

I'm going to repost this in here:
Quote:
Most elements I've seen so far are elements of a bad movie. Not just a bad G.I. Joe movie, but just a flat out bad movie. I know, I've seen plenty of them. All the actors and producers seem to be just phoning it in, because they don't see it as a "serious" movie.
It matters a lot to us collectors, because instead of being able to show it to people and say, "This is why I'm so obsessed with G.I. Joe, isn't this awesome," we'll be shunned by the public even more than we are now, and our non-Joe friends will make even more fun of us than they already do. We all wanted something we could be proud of, and we're obviously not getting that. This is why we hate on the movie. |
