"27-year-old Miller recently told ET that she wore a black wig for her role as The Baroness in the upcoming live-action adventure G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
“It was not a dye job,” Sienna said. “This is an old-fashioned tale of good versus evil, and historically the good guys tend to be blonde, and lighter, and the bad people tend to have black hair, like witches — it adds to villain-esque behavior. And also, she’s a very famous character within the cartoons and there’s a specific way that she looks, the same with Scarlett with the red hair, and so we had to be true to the characters the way they were created.”" ------------------------------------------------- Uh ... Firstly, what's up with: "historically the good guys tend to be blonde, and lighter, and the bad people tend to have black hair, like witches"??! Wow - just wow. Secondly, unless I'm color-blind, the wig in question has looked brown to me so far. Dark brown but brown. The ROC Baroness figs have brown hair, yes? Thirdly, if they're trying to "be true to the characters", why doesn't she have an accent?! Not to mention all the other things we've seen so far about this movie in general that contradict that statement ... /rant Last edited by The Baroness; 05-30-2009 at 04:42 AM.. |

Other things? You mean like Baroness being portrayed as a materialistic preppy mallrat?
Nice shoes, indeed. |

Honestly, I could care less what accent she has. She looks damn hot in that movie. Maybe hot enough that she takes some of her clothes off.

She's only 27?
Why do I feel like she should be like in her mid 30's. She's so young. |

You REALLY are grasping at straws trying to hate. Yeah the film looks terrible but there's no reason to put this on blast.
Historically, when it comes to storytellng, she's right. They've been making that association for over a century in entertainment. |

It's pretty standard action movie short-hand. It's the same reason the "Good" cowboys wore white hats and the "bad" ones wore black... so anybody watching it would know what side the character was one. Nowadays, bad guys tend to smoke, or act in very abusive ways towards women/children/animals/minorities. The good guy tends to have witty one-liners and be somewhat anti-authoritarian, which is good because his superiors are often shortsighted idiots. "Good" female characters tend to be very attrative, and often blond, since most sex symbols have/had blond hair. Female bad guys, who are VERY rare, are usually brunettes or raven haired, or have VERY bizarre blond hair, usualy with roots showing, or a blond crewcut. Watch Tango & Cash, Cobra, or Commando (or any Action/Disaster movie) and it's almost like the plot came from a machine. |
