After reading so many posts/topics on the upcoming movie I can't believe how many people are setting them selves up for MAJOR disappointment.
You would think that the dealings of everyday life would teach you that the more you expect and anticipate the more you set yourself for failure/disappointment in the end, if whatever it is doesn't meet YOUR standards. So many of you already have such HIGH expectations of this movie and to a degree should, but no matter what the movie ends up as it will never be what you want. Some of you better prepare for the worst because you already have the pre-conceived mindset that, that's what the movie is going to be, horrible. The movie isn't even close to coming out yet and this board full of rants and raves. BTW, to the people that think Transformers "sucked" have some serious issues. I can see an out-look of it could of been better, but can't we say that about almost any movie in existence? It however did not suck. Making an adaptation from a cartoon made for kids into a live action movie made to please EVERY age group and not make it seem corny is insanely hard. How many movies have made this transition and SUCCEEDED the way Transformers has...hmmm......NONE?!?! Heres a couple of winners, He-Man although kinda old, and Ninja Turtles. Some of you need to wake up. Back to G.I. Joe for a sec, this movie IMO seems like it's much harder to do then Transformers tho for the simple fact that pretty much all of the characters are human and some, pretty bazaar. Fancy special effects and computer imaging isn't whats going to make this movie work. It will be the actors, characters, and storyline. Trying to make a realistic and compelling story line work and not seem corny seems hard, but i think could be done. As said earlier tho, the more you scrutinize and EXPECT what ever it is you expect your most certainly setting yourself up for a let down. I think that has a lot to do with why some of you didn't like Transformers....If it sucked that bad it wouldn't of done as well as it did at the box office. Think of it this way it could of turned out like the live action version of Street Fighter 2, how would you feel then? Street Fighter 2 frightens me to this day....*shivers* Last edited by Sysiss; 01-19-2008 at 01:07 PM.. |

Whatever happens with the movie doesn't even matter to me. Its not the 80's anymore and having the movie cater to a bunch of old dudes isn't going to do anything for this line. I hope that this film is aim for a new generation of GI Joe fans. They already have us, plus they just gave us what we wanted with this wonderful 25th line.

The Movie will be good and make a load of cash. Its just like the Transformers Movie people just need to adjust to a new style. I personally can't wait for the first teaser trailer or even a Movie Poster.

This is a side note. I hope the movie packaging is like the packaging for the 25th except that instead of the illustration they use stills from the movie.
