Who said I was kidding, I don't have any friends...you are so right gunslingercbr...when people treat you like you do, wow who needs anything at all LOL. Again with the personal attacks? Really? really?
Get back on topic son! So us some real "logic" behind your 100% conviction on why you voted there would be over $100,000,000 made in opening week.... I've already stated my opinion on how much I think the movie will make. of course, because I don't mind the movie you have to reduce that opinion to blind following and thus must believe it's going to make $100 million or whatever. such reductions are generally made by weak minds that can't handle complex scenarios where everything isn't so simple. for you, someone can only love the movie and follow it blindly or hate it and denounce all aspects of it. logic would reveals that there is actually an area of gray inbetween. oh, that evil logic. |

The problem with G.I. Joe and the "Too much stuff crammed in" concerns is that there's really no other way to do G.I. Joe.
If you make it just "The Duke Movie guest-starring G.I. Joe" people will complain, likewise "Snake-Eyes guest-starring G.I. Joe." If you cut out Destro, the Baroness, Storm-Shadow, or Zartan people will complain. Even as it stands people are likely to be disappointed that the Dreadnoks, Crimson Twins, Firefly, Stalker, Flint, Lady Jaye, Gung-Ho, etc... etc.... aren't (as far as I know) in the movie at all. Or that their favorite vehicle from childhood doesn't get an update, or whatever.... G.I. Joe has lots of characters. Narrowing it down to the dozen or so that they have for the film is about the best they could do. Even the "Original team" had 13 members just on the good guy side alone, and quite frankly individual characterization and "spotlight time" for all but a double-handful of Joes and a handful of Cobras has suffered throughout the franchise's life. Look at Resolute, they had to narrow it down to a handful of speaking parts for the Joes, because there is so many to deal with. Hell, they even trimmed the roster down ALOT and only had about 20 Joes total that they redesigned.

I've heard this lately, people comparing G.I. Joe to Street Fighter. Now, I said YEARS AGO, and I'm not kidding and got allot of guilty "Yeah, you're rights." BUT, IF they had used that SAME script with a few minor tweaks here and there, we all know that Street Fighter would have been a GREAT....uummm okay Good/decent GI Joe Movie.
Now I'm NOT talking about actors, no, but the character. Think about it. Cobra Commander in Bison's role. Duke in Guiles. Scarlet and Cammy, list goes on and one. Think about it, have a good chuckle and see what I'm saying. Remember...it was 1994 too, we had to take what we could get and with would have been pretty decent.

Street Fighter would have been tons better if it was actually about Street Fighter and not a bad Joe rip-off, lol.

For the Street Fighter reference:
LOL....glad you guys see the point...OH GOD NO....Not the actor. Just the character. And I agree. If it was about Street Fighter, I don't know a tournament or something like it's suppose to have been. But as a bad Joe movie...it's pretty good. I bet next time you see watch it, you'll see my point even more. LOL |

is that really a personal attack? really? a personal attack is calling someone a lemming, which seem to do quite easily, just because they like the movie. of course you have to ignore the fact that someone can like the movie without following in blindly. that would require you to think, which when done well and efficiently uses logic.
