It's a hard concept to get. Don't have to like the ideas/designs/plot of the movie, but have to support getting Joe into the next generation for the next generation of fans. A True Fan would never say "the only true Joe is blah". You can say "I never liked Sigma Six or Spy Troops" all you want, but just have to acknowledge that the other brands are just as much Joe as your particular brand.

Spy Troops was heads and tails above Sigma 6. Sigma 6 might have well been called "we need money" it would have gotten the point across. Resolute was a great spin off. Spy Troops was a great spin off. Sigma 6 went the way of mech's to cash in on the gundam craze. We have to be able to see the forest through the trees.

A growing brand is a successful brand. The movie is the largest opportunity G.I. Joe has had for major growth since the late 80's. Even Sigma 6 pales in comparison. Keeping it all "25th/Classic" forever more means a stagnant brand...and eventually a dead brand (once they've recreated all the classic characters). |

They should have filmed my dad playing with a bunch of barbie dolls in army fatigues and called that the GI Joe movie.

Gee, I must've missed the memo where Hasbro wasn't supposed to try to make money.

I have a problem when they make crap. Hasbro didn't want to be tardy to the mech party. My foresight is unrivaled jmacq1.

I've got an idea. Maybe Hasbro can expand the GI Joe brand beyond the realm of military toys. Maybe we can have GI Joe Nascar force. Nascar has become quite popular, and to cash in it only makes since for GI Joe to stop wasting their time with "Perpetrators of man-made distasters" and start racing cars! Come on Hasbro, get with the times!

riiiiight. Forgive me if i continue to disagree with your opinion.
Is there a point to this inane rambling? G.i. Joe has branched into non-military toys before. Specifically with the "adventure team" waaaaay back in the day. From what i understand, it was fairly successful at the time, and continues to have fans to this day. |
