As for "this is not the only Joe forum": subtract the several thousand members here that are also members of those other forums, and suddenly the "fanboy population" isn't growing all that fast even if you add up ALL the Joe forums out there. Either way, you're sure as hell not going to make up 14 million people. Last edited by Jmacq1; 04-29-2009 at 07:12 AM.. |

the majority of the members here were merged in from tfw2005.
thats been common knowledge for a awhile now. i think toyark did the same thing. it's all done with the same owner. but yes fanboys will go see it and non-fans will see it. tell me, was dukes of hazzard the same as the original? or bewitched? or any of the other flicks that have been based on an original product? look at battlestar galactica. it was much better than the original crap with the robotic dog it. things have to change for people to enjoy it. i'm expecting a fun movie. but i know it's not the joe i had as a kid.

Of course, we all have our "dream list" of actors (I'm personally peeved that the stupid Mummy guy is Zartan instead of Dominic West), but I still say they could have done worse with CC. Now, I am no "Rise of Cobra" apologist. I think the movie will suck horribly, but CC was going to look stupid no matter who was playing him. I figure a skinny, normal looking guy fits my idea of early Cobra Commander pretty well. And Gordon-Levitt can play a skinny, normal kind of guy pretty well from what I've seen. As I said before, Brick was a very good movie and he was very good in it. I would be a bit more concerned about the glorified models and second-rate comedians that were hired on to other roles. The main character of Duke will probably be completely forgettable and bland. And Snake Eyes will apparently be CGI as much as "man in suit," based on the one commercial I've seen. At least Gordon-Levitt was hired for his acting ability.

How do I spell pretentious? Gordon-Levitt; of course he's an a**hole, the boys name is hyphenated for christ sake.

I think they cast jgl because CC was so whiny in the OG cartoon. Cartoon fans should be happy! JGL is a pretty good whiner

Anyway, just saw that he is slated to star in a forthcoming Chris Nolan film. I bet after that, all the fan boys will fawn over G-L, and say how much they want him in superhero movie X. |

I wonder if Gordon-Levitt is just blowing smoke to try and cover the leaked image/figure up. Paramount probably figured if they send him out to deny that the image/figure is not what CC will look like then it might calm some of the fans down, but in reality we know it won't change there isn't enough time to change it before the movie is released.
