Blu-ray Sales, July 29-August 4: G.I. Joe Assaults Home Media
I was reading this that G.I. Joe Retaliation is #1 on Home Media. It says that the film had a solid 54% of the HD market share last week. Even if you didn't like it- it is good news for all of us, because it means more films and toys! |

Good job retail you got rid of toys that could also get you some cash along with that movie.
Let us hope that next movie retail supports the merchandise while Hasbro doesn't post pone the movie and everything else. I think the whole clearance thing is revenge on Paramount and Hasbro. Though I do think that if we get rid of the merchandise, we get rid of the need to make the movie with kids in mind. We could in that way get a movie we possibly want, but lose the merch. Sacrifices. I am a bit tired right now. I am going back to sleep. Where am I? |

To be honest I think the Retaliation toys were a bit over priced. When a figure is $9.99 that is way too much for the average kid who wants to start collecting action figures! When I was a kid Joe figures were only $2.99. I think they knew that only us adults had wanted the toys.
Back to the thread... Yes having various versions of the film helped boost sales. But it's all good in the eyes of Paramount, MGM and SkyDance Pictures. Maybe they will give G.I.Joe 3 a bigger budget and we'll see cooler vehicles for the next film! |
