Yeah I'm hoping that's the case, this just sounds like a terrible move for the production

This is most certainly bogus. Wayans is probably in the flick... and even probably as Ripcord (as f**ked up as that sounds), but him as the ___LEADER___? oh, worry not - Don't think Goldner wishes to be hanged by the balls
On the other hand... the flick being set 10 years into the future sounds intriguing.
WAYANS AS RIPCORD. I better quit smoking this shite!

Maybe, doesn't sound that far-fetched. Maybe take a few character liberties or so.
Ripcord as the leader of the Joes?
That's...hm.
Wayans as Ripcord who is the leader of the Joes?
This is going to take a grain of salt and a long nap.

Besides, Ripcord as the leader of the joe team, come on...for the good castings they have done so far, I doubt this is accurate ... I could see Marlon playing Stalker whom would be a leader in the feild ... was it taken out of context? This is a joke right... they had rumors of Duke being shot around there is no way in hecklby .. that Duke will be left out of this flic ... Hasbro promissed a classic battle and Ripcord was not a classic leader ... he doesnt even have a figure in the 25th anniversary line and has been long forgotten as a character .. would like to know who started this story? what a joke .. |

It's time's like these when I'm glad I'm strictly a fan of COBRA.

Paramount showed a great deal of confidence in Stephen's take, and our ability as producers to get this up and running for a February start. His passion for the characters and the world convinced the studio this was something they couldn't resist."
Does this sound like ripcord will lead the
Joe team?
For the first 5 or 6 cast members added -- they were met with accuracy ... still cant see it -
Wish Hasbro's Brian Goldner could shed some light on us - its giving me bad anxiety... |

I've never seen him do anything other than completely comic or semi-silly semi-serious characters. Maybe he could pull an Adam Sandler & pull off an ultimate performance like in "Reign Over Me". I never expected a comedic superstar to be able of such a dramatic role. So in that respect I've always enjoyed that Waynes Brother's movies, & I'm not sure if he can do a GI JOE roll respectfully or not. All I know is I do like him..................so I wait & see. Duke never was a favorite character of mine. But if the 3rd rock from the son kid was Duke I'd be all over that. That kid rules, I loved "Brick" & absolutely adore "The Lookout". "I woke up, I took a shower......with soap". AWSOME.
I feel that even though he's young the 3rd rock kid would be the best for GI JOE Leader, Duke. I'd buy a ticket now MAN!
& A carefree crazy semi-comedic narrowed to seriously entertaining & actually grasping the character's ,LOL, character that my childhood remembers of Cobra Commander would so fit The Wayne's Brother Actor. Who says Commandr can't be black anyway?
Think about what I said I have to make good sense some where. |

ACTION.
MAN.
Ironically (?), I think it is Goldner himself who is keeping things in place, as much as he can. After the success of Transformers, Hasbro probably has a better grip on its franchises.
