For me its little things. Ranks and uniforms at the end.
Colton as a Major General (O-8) seemed low (two stars). Roadblock as a Sergeant Major (E-9) was fine, but second in command of the whole GI Joe team? With Lady Jaye (below) in that team made zero sense. Flint as a Sergeant First Class (E-7) was also fine because he was a hot head and needed to season before he was ready for command. Lady Jaye as a Captain (O-3) and a Marine (Eagle Globe and Anchor on her dress uniform) was a stretch since she was not in command or at least allowed to give orders since she was the highest ranking left of the Joes after the ambush. I am all for the movie taking some liberties, but rank is one that I really hate. I hated it in the cartoon. It was explained in the comics because Hawk was the commander and would put the teams together and give operational command to lower ranking joes based on the mission and their specialties. My thoughts on Duke's death: I think Duke can come back due to nano-mites. Some of them had to transfer from Ana (Baroness) from all their kissing over the years. Since his head was not blown off they would have started repairing him right away. Since the Joes had to take off after getting all the dog-tags, Cobra probably came back and got the bodies and now Rex (CC) will get to play with Duke's mind.

I don't even know where to begin because I really hated this movie! ROC was definitely better and by no means do I consider that to be a good G.I.JOE movie. The only things I liked were Cobra Commander, Lady Jaye (who was surprisingly pretty great) and Joe Colton.
Snake Eyes motorcycle helmet and uniform was ridiculous. Firefly was all together terrible! Roadblock was cheesy and forced. Duke was...well Tatum, so I'm glad with that outcome. Zartan was garbage as usual. Colton's geriatric crew was absurd! No other Joes were in the damn film except what we already knew about. Storm Shadow's supernatural recovery was never hinted at or explained. The stupid scene with Roadblock's friend (or cousin) was pointless. RZA being there was dumb as hell too. I can go on and on because I hated so much about this movie but I just get so frustrated talking about it. |

SS goes from Colton's house to CC side with Jinx yet CC never questions him about it? CC had to have known SE captured him yet let's him back into the inner circle with a new member (Jinx)? A scene between CC and SE to explain his presence after the capture and Jinx's presence would have been appropriate.

Flint is portrayed as a reckless douche who prefers to show off rather than disobey for the safety of his team. Flint was written as if he's a scene filler rather than a highly valued leader of the team. I guess the Rock gets all the good scenes. Can't have Flint cutting in on his screen time and start to look the hero.
fucking really? Of course you're still going to hear stuff like that. You think that if I punch you in the face, you're going to be quiet about it? The "silent" part meant there was no dialogue and no narration. |

Getting back on track instead of fighting over opinions....
Let me state that I loved the movie and was very happy with it. Was it perfect? No. My nitpicks: 1) the Cobra troopers looked lame and boring! I didn't expect them to look like the original or even the movie action figure, but maybe at least a black balacava (sp?) over the mouth? It seemed like some things were so meticulously represented with faithfulness in mind, but those Cobra Troopers had no inspiration from anywhere in canon. 2) Would've loved the HISS tanks to look more accurate to the original design... 3) Would've liked Firefly to keep his mask on more (but was honestly surprised he had it on as often as he did!) 4) In such a high security prison, isn't having the worst prisoners in tanks that shatter from gunfire a little convenient?? 5) Why do the guards go to such lengths to save Storm Shadow's life, thus allowing him to escape? But although I have nitpicks, let me post my ANTI-nitpick a.k.a. "WHEW!" moment: the Arashikage logo wasn't on all the Joe vehicles like the toys have. WHEW!!

I don't believe CC can be ignorant to an attack on the same mountain retreat he orders SS to be sent. But if that's true than CC is a worse leader than portrayed in Retaliation. He should have spies everywhere reporting back to him, always aware of a double cross.

didnt love or hate it. I did enjoy it, though. Not great by any means.
my gripes: -firefly's accent was all over the place and stupid -Firefly should have never taken his mask off around anyone but CC - a lot of bad dialog -horrible music - flint was completely worthless -jinx's accent WTF??? -Zartan was in a position to assume control of cobra....there was no need for cobra commander, really. he didnt do anything. -i think the movie suffered a lot because in most instances, the first movie sets everything up for the second movie, but in this case it was ALMOST like a reboot. There wasnt time to properly establish characters and get to the crux of the action/story...it seemed very thin. -The geriatric patrol was pretty pointless - i didnt like how SS was at Colton's place and then suddenly on the boat with CC. The movie could have benefited from having some "fill in the blanks" scenes and less pointless scenes, like Duke and RB playing MW3. |

I also didnt like that Zartan and Firefly were killed off. Zartan has been pretty lame so far, but obviously has great potential. And Firefly, other than his stupid accent, was really cool, IMO. Dont know who someone can get hit by a car an still function, but whatever...he was still pretty cool.
