i watched it on my xbox last week with the as It's been available for digital streaming since earlier this month... and It was at the movie theater for 2 days here.. (now I understand why)... I'm a troll cause I dont have time to see a movie in the movie theater ??? who the hell are you... do you have a family .. I created this topic because this is my opinion and for what I read here... it was almost a PERFECT movie...
who the hell can like a movie with a house (joe coltons..) whos like a transformer... changing in a nuclear weapon ??? nothing makes sense in this movie .. and there is nothing I can like... and I am REALLY disappointed as a fan... now that they blew up france in the first movie... London in the seconde one ??? nothing happens ???? this is a pure american hero movie ... nothing more... even snake eyes costume was ugly lol the rock and bruce willis have stupid dialogues.. I didnt expect an oscar movie at all.... but something fun... and this movie is everything but FUN... :( its DUMB... this is my opinion.. you can share yours too but for sure I wont see the third one in movie theater cause the only thing that made me happy was not to waste 12$ in the movie theater seeing it.... is it that HARD to create a good movie on a franchise that we as fan could write in 2 days ??? I dont think so.... even all the stupid catch phrase they used was "cliché" and "yo joe" would have felt "insightful to hear".... and how come storm shadow is dead in the last one and hes now alive without any notice in this one.. NOTHING makes sense :(((( screw the president, screw zartan, where is destro, where is cobra commander, where are the real joes... and bravo to channing tatum for saying im leaing after 10 minutes.... lady jay is HORRIBLE... makes scarlett an oscar winner when we compare both... Lady Jaye was the bright spot in Retaliation. She was perfect.

Too much pres. Zartan. I wish it was Arnold Vosloo with a bunch of dreadnoks instead.
Joe 3 needs dreadnoks, ninjas and all out battle field war! And less long drawn out talking. More fighting and action. Ie: expendables. Just do it like that, there done easy.

Retaliation was exactly what it was supposed to be. Insane over the top crazy action summer blockbuster movie. I enjoyed it, just felt short at the end but that is what the extended cut is for now. I have the theatrical version on my PC and on my IPhone. It wasn't perfect by any means but it set up the 3rd movie which should be better now that the story line from ROC is wrapped up pretty much now. I do wish that Firefly could be in the 3rd movie, really was a great opponent for Roadblock.

Oh, no doubt it was bad. But it was the kinda bad that makes money, so who cares.
Honestly, I've made my peace with live-action movies of our treasured 80s properties. If it pays the way for quality updates of ARAH figures and the like, then I don't care what they do. |

It was a solid action flick and it made a hell of a lot more sense than say the expendables.
I had a great time watching it and will do so over and over again. The Blu-ray is getting released soon and it'll be mine asap. The Joes were what they should be and what they were in every comic iteration. I do have to say that the extended action cut does add a lot!! And fills up some holes in the plot. The reason for leaving Destro is so obvious that its pointless to elaborate on. He had simply outlived his usefulness. Storm Shadow turning against Cobra was only logical. CC was the villain and Zartan was a loyalist that freed his master. In his few scenes he established himself as a ruthless terrorist with a well organized private army determined to rule the world. While the Joes proved they'd never give up and would continue to fight untill they'll have won.... Reminds me of some song I know. The only truly terrible actor was RZA. The man is so obviously not Japanese that it was almost laughable. I mean he could have just spoken with his own accent instead of going for an Engrish sound.

Horrible is an overstatement and a personal one at that. I enjoyed the movie. I went into it knowing it wasn't the joe movie I want.
I appreciate Jon Chu actually reading some joe material and caring about the characters somewhat. This day and age they have directors making movies of characters we love without knowing anything about their mythos or caring. The ghost rider movies are a prime example the directors admitted to never reading a ghost rider book. I appreciate anyone's opinion and it is your right to have one. I just get tired of allllllllllll the hate that comes with these threads. |

I watched the movie on Blu Ray (extended cut) yesterday, not having seen it in the cinema due to having a <2 yo child.
I thought it was pretty reasonable, certainly far better than ROC and its over-the-top tech and CGI. It wasn't a cinematic masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination but was fun and I'd watch it again now. I'm certainly glad that the ninja Roadblock never made an appearance - I imagine the fight with Firefly was a left-over of that (I thought this was going to happen from the comments and the prequel comics) and TBH coming from the Marvel comics was quite happy to see Duke on his merry way. Shame both Firefly and Zartan died (what justification does SS now have for being allied with Cobra? - perhaps none ), but at least Destro is left over for the sequel which I presume will happen. P.S. I should add - I was a little concerned as the film started, glowing hot gloves to cut fences (and alert the guards) and no headgear, but thankfully it got better or I just accepted the fact you need to see people's heads to know who they are! I'm just happy that there was a Joe movie to go to. Not like the cartoon at all, but a Joe movie. I'm 40, never would have dreamed it, but now we have 2 movies so far, not the Joe we envisioned but a Joe movie nonetheless. Joe will be gone sooner than later, I try to embrace whatever is offered in hopes of Hasbro continuing the brand for years to come. It will never be like it was when we were kids but come on man, Joe in this day and age? We're pretty lucky this brand is still around.
