Good: I actually like the dogtag stands that come with each figure. Very interesting twist on the classic stands.
Bad: Just about everything else. I do not like the figure colors, helmet design, weapons, etc. They just will not mesh with my current armies. |

Just spotted - that's European packaging - with the same bit of fluff in a dozen languages, and with a little 'GB' before the English blurb...
This makes me a very happy camper! Looks like we'll finally be getting some stuff over on this side of the pond - first since midway through Spytroops...

I am pretty sure he is refering to the horribley bland presentation of this boxes and card art. The 2 three packs are not much better. Who cares about some stupid cardboard playset and the so called justification that it will have 45 different languages on it. Sel that garbage to EU then not to me! They look like Starship Troopers/Star wars knock offs for GI JOE.
Not buying, I hope this stuff floods the shelves to the brim and you movie people keep it decimated so the rest of us can conitnue with ARAH 25th! BLAH ugly stuff, hurts my eyes! |

It wouldn't be so bad if the packaging wasn't so cheap and crappy looking. I'm staying away from EVERYTHING movie related except the movie itself.

Wait until you get single carded movie figs to start bitching about how terrible the art direction for the toyline is compared to the nostalgia whoring of the 25A cards. This three pack is more equivalent to the VEHICLES than it is the single figures.
Second: The movie box is clean and simple, includes a cardboard playset and is international packaging that may be sacrificing 'card art' to fit in every language in Europe. It has as many admirable qualities as the 25th card. You are looking for excuses to hate it. Otherwise, you must loathe just as thoroughly the vehicle and DVD boxes of the 25th Anniversary line, as they have many of the same qualities. Is it really fair for you to tell anyone when and what he can hate? I LOVE the nostalgia whoring of the 25A cards, even if the art blows. That's my personal opinion No one is looking for exuses to hate anything, it's just that the packaging sucks in my opinion. It's worse than the TRU 3-pack packaging. I like the DVD-pack packaging. I hate the movie packaging, as well as nearly every movie design we've seen thusfar, and not just because I want an excuse to. The TRU packs look dynamic with the tubes and the stars or cobra sigils. The DVD packs are bright and have great appeal. The vehicles have great window packaging and background scenery. This three-pack is just boring. The figures are bland and ill-designed. The "cardboard playset" is alright, but the box art is extremely boring. Here's my point of view: A lot of posters here are trying to blame those of us who don't think the movie merch/movie itself will be good for all the negativity on the Tank, but I think DistantFred's post quoted above illustrates that the defenders are equally as guilty for the "negative attitude" as the us "haters". Let everyone have their own opinion, and don't get all up in arms because someone dislikes the direction of the art of the movie.
