I was thinking about this today and I thought I would create a survey to determine a non-scientific public opinion poll of Retaliation.
I want to know who is enthusiastic about seeing this film since Hasbro/Paramount chose to cancel the July 4th week opener and delay the release for almost an entire year! Also I want to know who isn't. With the time past, I have felt these anti-climatic and ambivalent emotions about Retaliation. This is contrary to before the film's postponement as I was extremely excited to bust down the theater doors to see this film. However, with the annoying delay, I no longer feel any need to see the Retaliation film. With that in mind, I was wondering if anyone else felt the same or if they are still gung-ho to see it. I feel really bummed out about everything Joe and it all started with the delay of Retaliation. As a side comment, I have to add that I believe the film delay has actually hurt the brand considerably. The fans and public were jerked around because of this and this may have caused the brand unintended consequences. What does everyone else have to say? Thanks!

I find it hard to convey my exact emotions on the subject. On one hand I'm glad that I'm able to visually tell this is a G.I. Joe film, which if nothing else is a vast improvement on ROC. I can't say I was ever really excited. Don't get me wrong I absolutely loved the Trailer when I seen it. However this is again a visual bases. I had already decided before hand that I was going to wait for reviews, since I didn't want a TF2 scenario. (Granted I don't think Retaliation could even be that racist or unintelligent) But the prospect of wasting money on something that is either going to be boring or just plain stupid still lingers in my head.
The delay is certainly a damper on how I feel about the film as a whole. After all, one could interpret the delay as a bad sign. On the other it could be for the better. My brain just keeps telling me wait until I have enough information on the matter before making a full judgment, it would be illogical to presume anything without proper knowledge of the situation. Regardless, should the reviews be favorable I will go see the film, if not, then I just use that money on the toys. I will say looking at the delay, the toy line being delayed, the lack of information on the affair... I'm wishing harder than ever that Hasbro would just freaking lend Highmoon Studios the damn Joe licensing so we can have a good game and hopefully a toy line to go with it.

Although Disappointed About The Delay, I Am Still Excited To See The Movie.
I Also Think Once March Gets Here, The Buzz Will Pick Up Again. Think Of It This Way ......The NFL Season Runs Through The Second week of February. I Always Feel Like The Football Season Flys By. So After The Superbowl, We Will Only Have 6 Weeks Left!! LOL It Will Be Here Before You Know It!!

0% interest. The trailers look completely retarded & I'm totally against them killing off all the characters from the first movie.
I was mainly looking forward to seeing more of Rachel Nichols. No Scarlett=no interest=no sale. And the Rock is totally wrong for Roadblock. And Bruce Willis looks & acts the same in every movie. I won't be watching this turd! You need an option on the poll for people that are totally against this movie. Option #4: I give everybody involved with this project the finger! I feel really bummed out & I've been done with GI Joe ever since the Sci-Fi wave never showed up in stores. Hasbro can't get the figures into the stores anymore & it's a feeding frenzy for the fucking scalpers. I'm not supporting the scalpers, I'm not paying $20+ for every new figure. I'm also not going to pay $9.99 for the figures either. Sorry, they ruined everything with the crappy distribution & constant price hikes & it's over. You guys will realize this eventually & finally get sick & tired of the constant crap too. Some of us take longer than others. Last edited by Steelgrave; 09-21-2012 at 08:42 AM.. |

I may go see this in the theater, but while the trailers look good, im still cautious. what i have learned so far im thinking they have butchered the back stories already established so i dont know, ill still see this for an hour and a half of entertainment but weather or not its gi joe or not still remains to be seen.

I'm excited for the movie. I don't sit here and think about it everyday --- makes the time pass faster. But I'm ready to see it. I think it'll be good.

I'll take my son to see it in the theater. I'm hoping they stay true enough to Hama's universe that this can be a starting point for something big.
G.I. Joe can be something close to Avengers, X-Men, etc. Would love to see it happen.
