Am I the only one that views the movie toyline as a chance to stop spending so much money on G.I. Joe for awhile?
The Modern Era line to me is the pinnacle of G.I. Joe, with its updated versions of classic character designs and strong attention to detail. The new bodies are pretty much perfect. I have little interest is much else. I see the movie stuff as just another variation I don't need. I want more Modern era stuff, but I could use a break for 3-6 months or something. I have ZERO interest in the movie line, aside from possibly Cover Girl, if a figure is made of her. With the upcoming return of the Transformers movie toyline and the lack of interst I have in that, I'll get a break from collecting those, too. I'm lately only interested in the Classics Universe line and scattered figures from the Animated line. Thank god for all these craptastic movie design toys! My wallet rejoices! Of course, if the G.I. Joe movie toys fail to sell well, Hasbro (and retailers) will typically view it as a loss of interest in G.I. Joe toys as a whole rather than just apathy toward the movie toys. I love Hasbro, but they tend to have some really bone-headed ideas about who's buying their product, why, and what the case assortments should be. You're not the only one. I need a break myself but I'm abit behind since I can't seem to find all the current ones such as Wave 11 thru 13, and some vehicles and the last 3 dvd packs. Trust me, it'll be a short break, if the movie sucks. I don't think Hasbro is that stupid enought to completely end the joe line if the movie don't sell well, but they will end it if they don't start making more good figures, instead of repaints.

Im only collecting figures from the movie that hasn't been released from the 25 annv. Well it all depends what the figures looks like but I dont see me collecting much from this line.

I guess it all depends on what the product will look like / be....
99% sure it'll be a slower pace for me at least. |

I do look at it as a break. Although they said there would still be classic characters mixed in the movie line sporadically so I might be occasionally spending some money here and there.

I won't mind the break at all. All the comic packs and carded figs and vehicles have been killing me. The only new vehicles I've gotten in the last four months have been the Rattler and desert Awestriker to the reprieve will be a chance for me to catch up.
