GIJOE MOVIE FACTS –
a) October 30th, 2007 - Paramount Pictures has now given G.I. Joe the green-light with a budget said to be $170 million. b) Filming begins in early 2008 under the direction of Stephen Sommers (Van Helsing). c) G.I. Joe is being produced by Sommers, Bob Ducsay, Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Hasbro chief operating officer Brian Goldner d) Hasbro and their reps at the William Morris Agency control G.I. Joe. e) Stuart Beattie is the sole screenwriter on G.I. Joe, John Lee Hancock and the team of Brian Koppelman and David Levien -- were only brought aboard to polish specific scenes. f) G.I. Joe stands for Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity. g) G.I. Joe is slated to go before cameras mid-February 2008, principal photography will begin in Prague and Los Angeles. h) G.I. Joe will be known as an international force led by First Sergeant Conrad S. Hauser “Duke” that will be based stateside, don't expect Joe's British counterpart Action Man to be included after all - this new script is set to be 100% G.I. Joe. i) Sommers informed us you'll see the coolest characters and visuals you can imagine, and beyond-state-of-the-art equipment. j) The G.I. Joe team will be based out of the “Pit” as they were throughout the 1980s comic book series. k) This movie will be a modern telling of the “G.I. Joe vs. Cobra” storyline and its compelling characters that Hasbro created 25 years ago. l) The film will see soldiers from all branches of the military fighting a terrorist group called Cobra, led by Cobra Commander and featuring such villains as the Baroness, metal-faced arms dealer Destro, master of disguise Zartan and biker gang Dreadnoks. m) Movie will be inspired by the comic books. n) A Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow story arch will be a central portion of the story. __________________________________________ ULTIMATE G.I. Posting a bunch of wished-for casting and things not nec. confirmed by anyone official yet under "GI Joe Movie Facts" is really misleading.

I respect your efforts on casting this thing, but I have to say that if half of those choices came to pass, it would drop the budget to about $100 million. Not very realistic with what I'm sure they're looking to spend on talent. (take Transformers for example)

Thanks for the roundup of the facts.
As for the wishlist. We all have our choices. I am personally hoping for a relatively unknown cast so they are the characters, not the actors. And welcome to the Tank!

yea ...what they^ all said
Terry Crews would make a perfect Roadblock. secondly, i didn't declare what i was saying was "facts" like you did. i said "i thought they cast him as Duke",meaning i could been wrong, but that's what i remember seeing somewhere. i don't want Jamie Fox anywhere near this movie, that is another terrible choice.
