Simple question about availability of info..

Might seem silly, but has me scratchin' my head.

Looking at our sister sight, tfw2005, people are talking about some other big movie coming out next year. Now on a weekly basis, sometimes daily, set photos and info gets leaked out. Maybe it's false info with a "dis-information" campaign going on, but nevertheless.

GI Joe should have about as big a fan following as TF, and like any movie you can find plenty of set info, leeked pics or spoilers, but I am coming across zero of those here or on other sights.

Long story short, what gives? Mostly CGI/Indoor screen shots or tighter control than DW/Speilberg has?

Honestly, I'm glad. I want to be surprised when I see it.

Also, the G.I.Joe movie isn't well-liked around these parts. Which is stupid cause it's not out yet and nobody has seen the finished product.

Most people already have a negative opinion.

So I really dont' want to see anything here cause then there'd be 20 pages of "what a piece of crap" and the negativity would be cranked to the max.

I'm of 2 minds on this.

On one hand, I really want to see info about the movie.

On the other, the info so far has been.......concerning. Also Troynos is right. Where there is news/info, there is complaining/bashing.

I think another thing to keep in mind is that Transformers is one successful blockbuster movie ahead of GI Joe and already has a huge mainstream following. Thereby, there will be more leaks from more sources. GI Joe has not "made it" so there are far fewer people leaking info because the demand for it is much lower. Who are the Joe fans thus far? Us. Outside the collector community, Joe is still obscure.

At this point the movie is in process in the CGI farms. I would imagine that Paramount has that locked down as much as possible and will only release information strategically (just enough to generate some buzz). They will likely keep it under control until at least the first teaser trailer is revealed, likely for fear of the inability to pacify rabid fanboys no matter what the movie looks like...

I'm still looking forward to seeing the trailer for this movie. I think that will answer some of the questions we have (hopefully).
