I find it incredible that so many people have so many contradicting opinions about this movie.......
You all know that someone, somewhere is not going to be happy with this NO MATTER WHAT.... One thing that everyone needs to remember is that this is a movie based on a fictional band of soldiers and a TOY LINE, not the G7 Summit or the 'real' problems plaguing society today. At the end of the day, as long as it entertains the masses, then it has served it's purpose........

We can all agree to disagree but I think the issue is important enough to discuss. |

I'm all for the 'discussion'......play on......
But don't bring into question someone else's way of looking at the same piece of art......and don't 'call them out' either...... Oh, and the "S" on Superman's belt?!!? Hell's Yeah, that is a really big deal!!!! ;)

I guess for the past 25 years I just have never seen the true spirit of GI Joe being "A Real American Hero".
I've just always seen it as a fictional team fighting a very unrealistic terrorist army. The term "international", to me at this point, seems very inconsequential as that can mean a number of things. I'm curious Infinitron. What do you think the term international means in respect to what has been said about this movie and why are you so opposed to the idea? |

See, I think my point about the whole thing is, until anything about the movie is confirmed, it's impossible to have an opinion, or at least to have an informed one. I don't have an opinion. I say, wait and see and hope they make something fun.

I think it is important to keep this "American" because what most people don't understand is everytime you do something like water-down or cater to other countries, it just empower's them (countries that hate us)to have more control over us mentally. if we keep worrying about "what they will think", we will spend the rest of time going out of our way to market and do things based on other's opinions. it's like Mexico hates that we want armed guards at our border and ant to put walls up...but yet, they have a severely armed southern border WITH guns and use force to deter any crossers. hypocrite's, no? stop worrying about what everyone else thinks, make OUR movie for us, trust me everyone will go see it. let them hate, at least they'll respect us for taking a stand for once about national pride, even if it's a movie about a "toy"... After reading this subject I wanted to add my 2 cents, and my way to do this is "you can't please everyone 100% of the time" Myself I have my view on G.I.Joe, but I'm sure it is different than yours, some of us thought Serpentor was the best leader, others it was Cobra Commander, and others thought Destro would lead, Also cartoon wise Duke lead for the longest with no mention of hawk untill 1986 (unless you read the comics) So it's a point of vew issue. Will this movie be great? Sure! Will it please everyone? No! But it's coming, and as an American, I'm proud to say that G.I. Joe is my Real American hero! Nuff said, and never let an enemy eat your breakfast!
